Castrol GTX is a good mineral oil (that's what I use)
If you wish to switch to full synthetic I would (personally) use Mobil 1. I used it until I changed back to mineral for my new turbo's.

Constant threat
Castrol is very good. I also like Valvoline. Quaker State is another good one, as is Mobil.
Just stay away from Penzoil....that stuff is crap.
By the way, the manufacturer recommends 5W-30 and 10W-30. This is in the service manual, the owner's manual, and on the sticker on the hood.

Not sure what you mean by Castrol GTX "Magnatec". I just know GTX as GTX.
Yes, it should be %100 mineral oil unless it states Synthetic Blend, or Fully Synthetic. Read all the print on the bottle of oil to be sure if you are truly concerned.

i just read the entire ferrarichat post. and the main thing i got out of it, is that the common assumption of "use thicker for summer" is false.
20w-50
the first # has no bearing on what kind of protection the oil will offer at operating temperature.
the author of the ferrarichat post consistently leans towards thinner oil as better than a comparable thicker oil for each application.
not saying 50 is too high for florida summers, but the 20w is.(based on ferrarichat)

I also just read the entire Ferrarichat.com post, very interesting indeed, it certainly changed the way I see the oil ratings.

Think the magnatec is part synthetic?
I always just use 10w40 castrol mineral,as do the other lads running FD's.
But I have heard of fds running synthetic, but I wouldnt, just my preference

unless someone has some valid argument to this article, i think im gonna go with 0w-40 royal purple my next oil change(already using, i think, 10w-40 royal purple)
that article is well thought out, and it appears he really knows what he's talking about, from research and experience.
edit: i just thought of something. The article basically says under all circumstances 5W-XX or 0W-XX are the best choices.........well, why are there any other choices even still produced?
