oil boiling

i have a 93 FD with 39,000 original miles on it. every time i drive it for a little bit and turn it off it seems like either the oil in the oil pan is boiling or something is making a boiling sound. just want to know if that is normal.

It's not the oil, LOL

You likely have air trapped in your cooling system or have a improperly functioning radiator cap. Get your cooling system checked out.

If you notice gaps in the time space continuum along with the boiling sound it's the flux capacitor. If it's just the boiling sound it's probably air in the cooling system.

PandazRx-7 is just messing with you, it's air in the cooling system.

This could be any easy fix like "burping" you coolant system of air bubbles or getting a new Rad. cap or AST...But is could also mean that your coolant seals are toast and you need a rebuild.

My car sounded like water was rushing around in engine after I shut it off. I ended up needing a new motor. Do the "champagne bubble" test..

it just sounds like there is something boiling. its not the seals or anything with the engine because i took it to checkpoint engineering in sac and they said everything looked and sounded fine at the time but i forgot to tell them about the boiling sound.

It happened to mine once, just get your cooling system check out or u can flush your raditor and put in some new coolant to make sure that is no air in the cooling system.

I got mine checked out and replace the coolant. Things seems to work fine now.

Oh you newbies

It's only the cooling system water boiling off in the turbos. Nothing to worry about unless you are that type!

I disagree, Chuck. The only time I have ever heard my cooling system "gurgling" was when my radiator cap was bad and only holding a few lbs of pressure. Once shutoff, the heatsoak caused localized boiling. With a properly burped system and a good radiator cap, I've never heard any gurgling, even after a track session.
