Well, I've got a dp, Pettit resonated mp, and Pettit duel tip cat back. I've been runnin seq and its was loud enough. I do want to switch over to non seq for a set of hybrid twins and high boost but if its going to be too loud at 80mph to drive for say 7+hrs I dont think I'd want it. The way it was when seq was at about the max volume for a long trip.....I dont think I could handle anymore. My wife already complained about having to turn the stereo up to loud to hear it good......which she was right and on a 10hr trip to Daytona I need a stereo haha

I am very happy with non-sequential operation, I will never go back. It is louder, the difference is like when (in a sequential setup) the secondary turbo comes online...... imagine that all the time. It will obviously vary from setup to setup. I have one of the more quite exhaust on the market. In fact, artguy's exhaust is louder than mine, and he runs sequential, but has a streetport.

I've decided to do it. Jumpin' in with bolth feet. I've removed the uim, altenator, air pump, y pipe, etc...everything minus the turbos. (Tonights project). Gonna order a block off plate kit from Jason today. I figure that i could make em...but I'm working like 6 days a week 12+ hrs a day. Not fun, and don't want to spend the time to make them. All i have to say is I hope you guys can give me a hand if I come across any questions! So far so good! CJ

But isnt the poor mans way about the same loudness as seq??? I though the loudness came from cutting out the flapper..... I guess I could do a full conversion but just leave the flapper in place.

Rikki, have you cut out your flapper??? Is that what made most of the extra noise or is it just going nonseq that makes the noise no matter if you cut the flapper or not.

Hey Rikki when is that detailed write up coming . And an updated vacuum diagram. Im itchin to go but I wanna know everything thats involved first. Like everything that needs to be removed/blocked off. Poor mans way vs normal way. The writeup on your site is ok, but not super clear. Again Im itchin to rip my engine appart and get rid of all the clutter.

My non-seq conversion, started as a vacuum line hose replacement for the seq system. Removed the uim....and started to realy think. Took about .459 seconds to decide that i'm going non-seq! So far i've been using

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/non-sequential.html

and a someone on this forums color coded non-seq picture. (Thanks a bunch who ever did it.)

I'm still going to need to pass emissions, so i've have to keep a part of the rats nest. O-well.

So far, the biggest pain (besides breaking a exaust stud off and finding out my 2nd turbo has a little to much slop in it.) was the oil return lines away from the turbo's. I thought for some reason to keep them bolted to the engine so that oil would'nt go everywhere....well thery're empty. The turbo's did not want to come out otherwise.

From what i understand, all the bolt-ons will give you quicker full boost. As far as fuel upgrades, i'm not going to be doing any for a couple more weeks after i get it off and running. Lots of guys just use the stock fuel system. CJ

Thats the complete non-seq mod. The one that i'm doing. So far its been pretty good. On rikkis page, he has a poor mans non-seq. His can be put back to seq.

EDIT: Never mind...picture would'nt work.
