You can't beat John Deere for good nitrous sprayers.

Why would you waste money spraying nitrous when c02 is cheaper and just as good.

agreed, unless you are already running nitrous(which i would bet you aren't) go with the C02. i've read into it and they both seem equally effective in cooling your IC. of course i am talking about articles i have read and not 1st hand experience.

some guy sells custom kits on ebay for not that expensive. you tell him ur IC dimensions and he custom builds the hoop and you get a paintball co2 tank and hosing and valve.

isn't there a chance you can just suck that crap up into your intake, if it was NO2 it would just make you lean out, as for CO2 i dunno what the hell that would do if it got sucked in.

thats the problem with Nitrous, it can get sucked into your intake. C02 on the other hand is non-combustable.

I don't have any pics of it yet...I'll get some pics of it when I get back home. (I'm sitting in a hotel room right now) It is wired through an arming switch and activating button. I mounted them on my center console. I didn't want it to be automatic...I only wanted to be spraying off WOT to prevent heat soak.

academytim, this is exactly what I need. Please post pics when you get a chance. How big of a bottle did you get? How lobg does it last?

I also worry about leaving the bottle in the hot car during the day, is this a concern?

If you get a paintball tank, they have a burst disk installed to vent the pressure if it gets newhere near a dangerous level

Not necessarily. NO2 is not liquid when you put it in the tank, so they fill it based on pressure. C02 is liquid, therefore must be filled based on liquid weight. If you fill C02 blindly, you risk putting too much in and having it expand later and build up some seriously dangerous pressure.

To answer the questions posed...I have the PFS SMIC, its a 5lb aluminum bottle, the local co2 company that fills it for me (for free I might add) has tons of dark steel tanks that are filled and left out in the summertime heat, and they don't have them blow out the burst disc. I asked him to only fill it to 4.5lbs each time just to give it a little room to expand should it need to. Couldn't tell you how long it lasts yet...I'm still on my first bottle.

I will say that it makes a difference...it is better at preventing the IC from getting heatsoaked then it is bringing the temp back down after it gets heatsoaked. Also...the stock intake temp sensor reacts pretty slowly. So its not like you spray it...and watch your temps go down. But the throttle response is MUCH better after sitting for a few minutes at a light then it was before.

Also I think a mix of water and c02 would even better the effects and you can use the c02 (since its more pricey) in dire situations (race, track, traffic etc).

is there a reason I always see them installed on the front side of the IC (at least FMIC) could it be put on the rear side? Would these work on radiators as well?

Put it on the back and it will just blow away, while on the front it sprays and with the wind it seeps through the fins to really affect temps. I think a radiator has a very large area, not sure how much you would need to affect temps. Also why? Emergency?
