That only happens when you use it on the M2/ASP SMIC. j/k

I bet you can find someone that's tested that on the freeway against a friends car with a different setup that popped twice as many rivets out.

To fill the Nitous Express bott that is standerd, it cost about $40. that kit runs about $400, all of the co2 kits i have seen r around $150. U can find those kits on ebay or just go to your local performance shop and they can find it 4 u.
Question is whats more bang for the $. Depends on how power hungry u r.
I'm a Mechanical Engineer with a good background in thermodynamics. Trust me when I say that you are full of ****. Assuming equally pressurized systems, N2O has a boiling point of about -127degF, whereas CO2 boils at -109degF. When you are talking well below (negative)100 degrees, an extra 18 won't make too much difference. Either one will be completely effective.

As for the price, it only costs me a couple dollars to fill my 20oz CO2 bottle, and I can have it done at the local sporting goods store (right down the street).

I also advise being careful while using these. The stock air intake sensor, as we all know, has a high propensity to heat soak. Unfortunately, if you are super-chilling the intake air, and the sensor hasn't reacted to it yet, you could possibly run lean and pop a motor. There are a few people here that have found that out the hard way (nocab72??)

It's cool, sorry if I sounded abrasive in my post. I did get the impression that you were attacking me rather then the guy who actually said that. No prob though.

From Fast and Furious when Mark Walburg uses NOOSSS BABY!!! in his FF Eclipse o DOOM, and uses to much and rivets begin to pop from what looks like his floor pans? No sense what so ever.

At first, I used a cheapo that I snagged from my shop. It worked okay for a little while, but eventually failed on me. I have since upgraded to a solenoid designed for purging nitrous. I got it cheap off ebay (God I love that place). $30 if I remember right?

Anyway, the solenoid was the only tricky part, as many don't hold up to the extreme temps and pressures. All of the nitrous distributors sell usable solenoids, but they are $$$. Finding the right solenoid just requires a little creativity. I'll look around, and see if I can find some others that may work for you guys.

MARK WALBURG?!?!?! that would be a good one. Marky-Mark does Fast and Furious. hahaha

It seems like this is a good idea to help reduce heatsoak?!?!?!?!!

Sorry w/e
[edit] Paul Waulker who cares!? lol

Ya its made to reduce heat soak. Let says you do a spray 30 second spray every 3 minutes fora 30 minutes track event. Would a 5 pount botth last that long? Cause at least for paint ball they dont seem to last long at all.

Thanks a lot saxy I would really apreciate that. I just picked up half of my system. I got the steel braided hose and fittings, however I couldn't firnd any piping that looked suitable.

Not to poo poo on this system, I'm sure it's quality work etc. but isn't this just creating additional complications for something that's not really a serious problem to begin with? I think your efforts would be better spent somewhere else on the car.

Well, that and do you want to tune for Co2 Cooling, and then run out, it could have the same effects as Water Injection if you run out...

To me it's just another gimmick that people install on their cars because race/rice cars might have one, and they want to be just like that, but stuck in traffic going 10 mph, boosting 20 Psi @ Intake temps of -10 degrees below ambient to close that 10 Yard Gap, Yo !...

Well it is a VERY serious problem for some of us. It hit 102 degrees today here so the weather is probably a little different than Minnesota. Neverless, I can't even drive my car right now. It would heatsoak and die if I got caught in traffic or at a stop light.

What are you talking about? It's only going to cool it, at best, around 10-20 degrees. My intake temps yesterday were in the 60s. Even worse after driving then parking the car for a short period of time then coming back to an intercooler that has been baking away in the hot engine bay.

This would simply be the most effective way to go really. SMIC fans are not very effective, plus none fit the Greddy SMIC well. I am getting a vented hood to help also, but the cost for the hood, shipping and to paint it, well I'll just wait until I get the '99 front bumper and paint the whole car.

I am talking about "Tuning" the Air Fuel Mixture, to take advantage of the added coolness of the IC... therefore increasing HP... Or in other words, to depend on it functioning... and it failling for whatever reason...

Dunno... I live in Southern California, and I've experienced some pretty extreme temps, and I'm usually worried about the Rad temp, not the intake, then again, by the time I get full boost I'm allready going 40+ mph... I need to get my **** fixed...

I'm sorry if I came off wrong, but this isn't for racing or that extra 'kick' of a few extra horsepower. It's for getting stuck in traffic with no air flowing through the IC on a hot day to keep the intake temps in check so the car won't die. That's all.... well maybe in the staging lane at the track too.

if you wanna get fancy you could even rig up the electronic CO2 solenoid to a relay operated by a pressure sensor. That way it would automatically spray the IC whenever you hit a set psi of boost

If you really wanna get fancy, hook up the CO2 solenoid to a relay that is controlled by a pressure sensor. That way, the sprayer will automatically turn on whenever you hit 5psi, 8psi or w/e u set the pressure sensor to
