Yeah Emergency and things like staging lanes at the track. I was thinking of just spring at a stop thought but i gues it might be handy to be able to do while moving also.

KIC K-522 Cooler Spec Shet
Hi Guys,
THe Kit is from KIC, should be available at the www.rx7store.net very soon. so keep a look out. I have attached some specs and photos just to get your mouths wet.
THe actual valve is different for Co2 and NOS, you haev to specify which one you want, you cannot interchange or it will leak.
It is not advisbale to spray nitrous anywhere around engine bay at WOT( sespecially for rotary), read the write-up it may give you some insight.

Just build your own. I built my own CO2 sprayer a year or so ago for less than $70 total (and I probably could have done it for cheaper than that). Thing works great! Course, now that I've changed my IC, I'm going to need to "upgrade" the sprayer...

how did you make the hoop? did you just get some brake or other type of small pipe and just drill small holes into it at an angle?
also, how did you get the tank for so cheap? i just called up a local distributer and they said the tank alone would cost 110 bucks. is there a certine type of tank you are using?
as far as the paintball tank possiblity is concerned, how did you get a 5 lb bottle of that? my 20 oz CO2 bottle is freaken gianmorus and i dont think they sell anything bigger then that.

it doesnt matter when or where you spray, since it has nothing to with the airflow INTO the engine. idle, WOT, coasting, spray whenever you please
academytim, that setup looks good! If it was my car id somehow find a way to wire it up to a relay and use a stock defroster switch, or a foglight switch as the on/off (i like the stock look )

I just used a standard paintball tank. The first one I started using was like a 16oz, but I have since incorported a 20oz tank (both fit pretty easily behind my seat). One was bought used, the other purchased from a paintball store. Neither cost a lot of money (I think the one from the store was ~20). The CO2 actually lasts a lot longer than I originally expected them too (course, I really only spray short bursts. Just enough to knock the excess heat off).

Unfortunately, I don't really have any pictures (no digi-cam). I'm currently in the process of a major overhaul of my engine/turbos. The new and improved sprayer is on my list of things to accomplish sometime next month. I'll make sure to take plenty of pics, and do a good write-up for you guys.

all of u that say CO2 is just as effective, have not researched very carfully. CO2 spray on the intercooler is about a 20h gain Nitrous is about a 50h gain. To fill a 5lbs bottle of co2 it will cost about 20-30, depending on dealer. To fill the Nitous Express bott that is standerd, it cost about $40. that kit runs about $400, all of the co2 kits i have seen r around $150. U can find those kits on ebay or just go to your local performance shop and they can find it 4 u.
Question is whats more bang for the $. Depends on how power hungry u r.

O, if u do choose the co2 rout, don't go with the big 5lb AL tank. They make 5lb compresed tanks made of fiber glass. Those tanks r about $300 but give a more constant spray. I have one that i need to get rid of since i just sold my paintball gun. If anyone wants to make an offer they r welcome to

The only reason you might see a higher gain from the nitrous kit is due to nitrous being sucked into your intake...as far as cooling agents, they are practically the same. As far as $30 bucks to fill a 5lb bottle...someone is ripping you off big time. I get mine filled for free...but it would only cost me $8 bucks if I had to pay for it.

First...let me say that I'm not the one who said nitrous gives you a 30hp gain. Second...let me say that I don't think it will give you a substantialy higher gain. Third...I don't know about you, but I'm not planning on having nitrous getting into my engine without being able to tune my fuel system for it. So the small gain you might see from using nitrous rather then co2 is not worth the risk of it blowing up my engine. Besides...I didn't install my kit to gain horsepower. I installed it to keep from "losing" horsepower due to heatsoak.
