I've seen it work in person, looks pretty stupid to me. I'm sure it works. But With air temps that cold you might need additional tuning. If it really was that great of a system you would think it would be seen on Drag cars or people would be talking about it more.

Looks like a marketing ploy to me, but maybe it works? I wouldn't spend close to $400 on it.

One reason you probably don't see too much of it is the restrictions on it (or any other liquid/gas vent cooling system) in the SCCA classes. I don't drag race so I'm not sure if any of the classes in organized drag racing have any restrictions.

I know a couple people that took the front windshield squirters and relocated them to spray their radiator and intercooler instead. Pretty much the same effect prewired into the cockpit and at a much lower cost than $400 (a couple of misting tips for the hoses, just move the hoses not the actual squirter out of the hood, some zip ties and you're done).

I was thinking !

You know those cans of air you use to blow out dirt from your Key board ! sold at most office supply stores

Well when you turn them upside down the 02
comes out in liquid and freezes anything on contact !

anyway That could be a cheap Mod !

alL I need is the other parts !

wow, you read my mind. I have been looking into a c02 sprayer for awhile now. I saw the DEI kit last night and I really want one. It's comes with the 5lb bottle... don't know how long I expect that to last. Also, anyone know if any problems with keeping the bottle in a hot car during the day?

Where's the cheapest youve found it so far? If you get a group buy going I am definitely in. I need one bad.

You postive about the SCCA rules? I believe drag racing rules said something about if it's a gas that is sprayed then it is ok, but no liquids could be sprayed on the intercooler or radiator. This is just something I heard so I'm not 100% positive.

The cheapest so far for the kit not the intercooler part
is Eastwood.com for $260.

Does the SCCA have rules against water spray then? Or at least a modified class, since I know the WRX STi has a device that sprays water on the intercooler, and people run them in Solo II.

//edit: or am I thinking of the EVO VIII? I don't know too much about either car.

Stock: obviously not allowed (I'm not aware of any cars with one as OE)
Street Prepared: (Section 15.10.C [pg. 116 of 2004 rules], paragraph 2) "The use of chilled liquids, ice, dry ice, refrigeration systems, vaporized compressed gases, etc. is prohibited."
Street Modified: It isn't explicitly permitted and is not covered in Stock or Street Prepared so it is not allowed.
Prepared: (Section 17.10.D.3 [pg. 139 of 2004 rules]) "Only air-to-air intercoolers may be used. They must fit completely within the bodywork. They must be cooled by only the atmosphere. The use of coolants such as water, dry ice, ice, etc. is prohibited."
Modified: I'm not going to look but do you want your car jumping all the way into a modified class for this modification?

I would buy one if I know it worked good and I would want to know if my fd would need to be tuned for it. Its kinda costly but sounds good. I guessing that it is street legal. If anyone gets one, please let me know!
