newbie needs help

first off guy's i would like to say hello to everyone, hope life is treating everyone ok and i hope the car god above is shining bright on all of you.

i have a few question and i need a little help understanding (yes i did a search and i did learn a few things in the process)

but there are a few things i still need some insight on.

questions:

1) at a start i'm looking for around 350 to 450 whp, but later on down the line i will be looking to push into 550-600whp range

my question is can this be done reliable on the 3rd gen rx7 turbo motor or would i need to go with a 20b 3 rotor.

my next question is what price would i be looking at to purchase a 20b and where would i be able to obtain one.

any help that i get from you guys i appreciate

apparently you werent using the right words on the search
1.) 400hp is the generaly agreed upon reliability mark...above that and you are going to be spendng some serious cash.
2.) 20B's cost around 25-30k for the motor, parts needed and instal (even if you do it yourself) so unless you have some serious cash just laying around, forget the idea.

BTW remember to press the GO button on doing searches cause this stuff is all over

You can make 350 to 450 on the 13b, but it won't be too reliable. Then you could swap to 20b, but that isn't going to be so reliable either. The cost would be somewhere around $10,000 to $15,000 for the whole swap. If you want that much power with reliability get a Supra.

thanks for the info and if anybody else has any input please post

oh one more thing the car i'm working on isn't going to be a daily driver, it might see the street on the weekends and at the drag strip. i really want a very low 11 sec car. i'm not trying to be the fastest in the world but i enjoy racing v8 cars

if anybody can give me any more advice to accomplish this goal i would appreciate it

If all you want to do is push a lot of horsepower, get a Supra. Can you make an RX7 push a lot of HP? Sure, however, you can do it a LOT cheaper on other cars if that's all you care about.
