Motor Oil Question?

Hey today i just got an oil change with valvoline synthetic. i asked a guy that was familiar with rx-7's and said thats an absolute no no and i should get it flushed and re-oiled with regular motor oil. please let me know asap what i should do...im scurred to drive it until then! thanks

Back in the day, it was said not to use synthetics in rotary engines. However, synthetics have come a long way since then and are fine to be used. What weight did you use?

Skip at KDR recommends Castrol (natural oil) for the break-in of rotaries, and he's been at it 32 years. After that though, he said it doesn't make much of a difference whether you use synthetic or not, the only difference is turbos like synthetic better.

i run MOBIL 1 15W-50
idles really smooth and instant turbo response....i would never change only for something like ROYAL PURPLE but too expensive
