Using a turbo timer to cool the turbos is a waist of money because it's soo much better to cool the car down by cruising around a mile or 2 under light loads before shutting down the engine. This way you are still getting air flow to the radiator and oil coolers. However; a turbo timer can be used to engage the fans to cool down the engine and accessories after shutdown. This is way more usefull.

Also, another mod I regret is the Pettit Racing's resonated center section (midpipe), which replaced my other midpipe. The noise level didn't change at all and was a waste of money.
Use a piece of rubber behind the plate and you're life will be so much easier.

This forum has to be one of the largest collections of rotary and rx-7 knowledge I've yet to find.... but has anyone noticed that every now and then you find a post *coughtensecond1320cough* that seems to suck a good 30 minutes of research out of your skull and leave you feeling like someone just stepped on your favorite dog? .... or is it just me? lol

Btw mod I regret the most on ANY car... no exhaust past downpipe, y-pipe, h-pipe, x-pipe or whatever other piping you would like to get the fumes out of the engine bay. Nothing seems to wake up every rattle your car will ever have quicker than exhaust beating the underside of the car.

PFC has to be one of the best mods you can ever do. HOWEVER, if you can't drive to someone who has a lot of knowledge on tunning the PFC than it can be a one of the biggest mistakes you can do.

Have RB catback AND PFC and both are great. But I could see where it would be a Pita if I couldn't drive to have it tuned. I think mailorder tuning is BS.

When you post what you regret please add why you regret it...I have a hard time understanding why all new interior from Mazda is a bad thing.

Fully agree! I think turbo timers are one of those toys that sound cool, look cool, and don't cost to much but in the end is all a waist of $$. When I drive my car I do the same. A few miles from home I drive very easy and try to keep the RPM's at or below 3K and let the ram air cool the eng. (radiator) so when I get home, 30sec and I can shut down. Some people just don't fully understand turbos I think.

I built my own (which looks just like the RX7 Store) for about $30 and I used some rubber washers to absorb a little of the rattle and at idle (although a difference is noticeable) it's not to bad - I'm happy

I regret my M2 Coil over conversion springs(550/450). Had to get them to stop my tries from rubbing against my wheel well liners. The ride is too harsh over SF city streets for daily driving. I miss my cushy Eibach Pro kits.

I'm not sure about my Midpipe, I just installed it. The extra power is nice, but the smell sucks-***.

Why do you regret this? I have this bar - haven't installed it yet - but don't see why one would regret it.

Haha, I remember that thread and he got slammed pretty good! I'm sure he regretted that buy 1 hour after he posted that pic! Probably second guesses himself and gets stricken with grief every time he looks at his car now!
