I'd like to hear more about this. That's been my fear since the first time I saw these things that mount anywhere other than the block.

Back then

I regret NOT street porting my engine and adding bigger injectors while it was being rebuilt. At the time, the bill was killing me, but now I wish I had just done it

Engine Torque Brace...has anyone used the Rotary Extreme unit and was happy with the results????

Also, another mod I regret is the Pettit Racing's resonated center section (midpipe), which replaced my other midpipe. The noise level didn't change at all and was a waste of money.

I'm sure that in all of the restoration research and the hundreds of hours of time spent performing the work you would have realized it was a YENKO!

Not to mention that if he restored all those cars and built all those motors he must have started when he was about 8. Quick learner.

1. not machining all the exhaust surfaces of the ebay single exhaust manifold and my custom downpipe before I installed them.

something is barely leaking...somewhere...and everything is tight Dangit !! It's all gotta come off again sooner or later and get redone.

2. Not buying the OMP lines from Gotham or making true -2 an lines. My -3 lines...while working fine...are of constant concern for me...either too much oil or not enough.

3. Buying that new fuel pressure dampener before I realized I wouldn't need it with an aftermarket regulator.

I have it installed but the car is in the body shop getting paint and I still need to break in the engine...will post a write up afterwards.

The thing that bothered me was that even with the dampener, it vibrates like a ****! I had to put a rubber dampening pad on it.

I have new motor mounts and jimlabs diff bushings so the result maybe biased. Hopefully, I won't have the issue that t-von posted above *crosses fingers.

Porting the engine, no-one thought to mention it more than doubles the noise level, and the extra fuel wiped out my cat in days...
Waiting over 6 months for a midpipe that didn't fit properly, then getting the backbox to go with it (that was supposed to be quiet) just so it fitted. Only to then find that while the midpipe now fitted the backbox didn't and it is far, far too loud.
Then there are the Iannetti's that apparently result in the car making less power at low boost levels.

All in all, I'd like to go back in time and keep the car standard.

Buying the AEM EMS instead of the Power FC. A year wasted and I lost $200 on the deal. Having to cut out the seat belt to install my Sparco seat and not having a harness or harness bar = driving with no seat-belt.

Having no A/C, which the previous owner removed. Non-Seq is a split decision. I love how simple the motor is to work on now and the boost is always reliable, but the lag kind of sucks.

The biggest regret of all??? Not having a second car to daily drive!!!

things to regret. . . i was the stupid guy that took out a LOAN to modify my FD. though, things were needing to be replaced anyways. . . it still makes no sense. going overboard w/mods kills me. . . shoulda stayed "stock-modified".

im not sure on this one yet. . . making my own intercooler kit. . . fmic. . . was it worth it or not. i got better routing, but the headache involved and the money was just not all that worthwhile to me. hmmm. . .

ohhhhhhhhhhh, my biggest regret. . . buying the car BEFORE i checked it out on carfax!!!!! thats it!!!!!

salvaged titles ROCK!!!

the only thing i regret, is not selling my supra SOONER.

many people tell me "...you should have kept the supra..."

by selling the supra, i was able to pay cash for the FD, put on some basic mods, and put almost $11k back in my pocket.

yeah, it was pretty sweet, but driving an FD is SSSOOOOO much more fun!

funny thing is... i want a supra now TOO.

i'm an idiot!!!

lol...awesome.

i love my mp...thats up there with the power fc as the best mods i have done. Nothing like an uncorked rotary.

Anyways worst mod i did was the headlight air scoop. complete waste of money. i gave away my stock headlight for free too...wish i would get that sucker back.
even if i bought a new stock one you knwo the paint would never match.

The one I made worked extremely well. It had no vibrations at all. It was mounted on the engine mount like some of the others and was very sturdy. Late last year at a coupe drag events, I experienced excessive wheel hop(cold weather). I mean the hop was sooo bad that the small center peice of the 3 piece wind shield defroster vents popped out. Anyways after the run my vacuum droped from 15 to 11. I though I had blew my engine.

On the way home I floored it in third to check my boost pattern. Strangely enough, my boost curve on my seq twins was still perfect and the car felt great. . Also the car continued to idle just fine. I still wanted to know what was causing the low vacuum. So the next day I grabbed a can of carburator cleaner and sprayed at the base of the LIM behind the second turbo. Sure enough, the idle stumbled every time I sprayed. I was like F*CK!!!!!!!!!!

Later I found out that my passenger side differencial mount was bad. Now it makes since. The bad diff mount is the reason I had sooo much wheel hop at that last drag event. The excessive load/unload movement of the drivetrain put way to much stress on the torque brace and LIM.

Don't get me wrong, my car w/79k original miles still runs great. It's just now that it idles at 1,200 rpms and has lower vacuum.
