I'm curious as to what the real problem is with looping the rack?
Mines been looped for several years now with no problems. I daily drove it, also, for about 9 months... and I mean DAILY.

cool. just wondering. Thanks, Gordon.

Edit: I had several folks ask me about the loop line kit (including the OP - otherwise I wouldn't post this here). It's essentially some npt/hose fittings, couple of clamps and 1 high pressure hose that loops the rack p/s system.
Here's some pictures (Sorry the car is filthy atm but you should get the idea.)

so what... do you just remove all of the fluid as best you can and just loop it?
I am going manual but for cost purposes I would rather get my engine in before spending money on a full manual conversion. So I want to do this as a temp solution.

As a note: If you have or want to keep your A/C, you will need a smaller belt as the PS and AC are driven by the same belt. Check out www.banzai-racing.com for a replacement belt of the right length.
Good luck OP

I've been driving with the poor mans conversion for 6 months now and love it. I'm sure fully converted racks are better, but this is 80% there for free.

Read up on flying miata. Super easy to do it yourself. You have to cut one seal out, and bring the quill to a shop to weld up for you. Then put it all back together, seal the holes and paint er up..
Shouldn`t cost more than $30 for a shop to weld for you, and that`s being generous.
