M2 Turbo
M2 Radiator

Exhaust:
DownPipe
Mid Pipe
HKS Titanium 4" Setup

Now here is my problem, I am new to this Rotary World/Japanese Muscle Car's. When it come to tuning this beast, What do i use. I am not really sure i understand what i need. I really like the Idea of controling my boost levels, so that i may turn her down on days i don't need/want full potetial. So i need a boost controler (Apexi's Unit i like) Now can i use the APEXI Super AFC to do the rest?

Or should i get a unti to replace the stock one? This is were i really rteally could use your assistance, you see from above i WILL need it tuned, what do i ned to TUNE it.

I really apprecaite your help, and i must say this car ius frggin amazing ever since i drove a friends of mine, i have been hooked and trying to catch up on my knowledge.

Please i would like to hear your opinion and advice on this, i plan for this to be approx a 2 year project, so don't get the impression i am goona whip this out tommorrow.

I want to enjoy building and driving this car.

Thanks in Advance.

OK thats a very nice set up. Mucho dinero, but it seems like your on the right path. M2's are great pruducts arent they.

I wouldnt get the M2 airbox. I would take pettits open air with heat shield. Also since now you are going to be generating a lot of hp over stock, wheres the parts that keep the heat produced under control. I hope your not planning on getting by on stock radiator.

Also your fuel system needs to be revamped. Check out the nipondenso upgrade fuel pump from www.rx7store.com (very good product).

Also to control your boost you might as well get a standalone ECU since your probably ready for a single soon after all this is complete. Id say for ease of installation go with PFC (this will control your boost also) or a Haltech or Tech 3 (not sure if its out yet) if you think you can mess with electrical ECU's pretty good. It wouldnt be a bad idea to upgrade your injectors and only if you get the standalone ECU to control them but you will need bigger secondaries.

Throw in a couple gauges. Boost gauge being the most nessecary.

Good luck!

P.S.

I can't strees enough to read this 3rd gen section from top to bottom. Don't be afraid to ask ANY questions you might need (just be considerate and search before you throw questions)

I'm a big fan of M2 but damn, you're a millionaire!

He did list the M2 radiator. I would stay with the M2 cf intake. Get a Profec B for the boost and get the Power FC for the ecu, no need for the AFC cause the PFC will do all that and more.

I completely disagree. I had the Pettit Intake and I could not stand it. The heat shields are poorly made and it creates more hot air then cold. I think for the money you could make your own for less than half of that and it would perform just as well or better.

Your wish list is pretty big. I have the PFC and it will control all your basic tuning needs, ignition, boost, fuel maps, etc.. The boost control will only work for up to 14psi though.

Well my good friend does have the pettit with heat shield. We did hard runs with both are FD's on the highway then pulled over at a business parking lot. We popped the hoods right away to cool them down. I came over to check his out, put my hand on one side of the heat shield, then I put my hand on the other side of the heat shield. IT WAS A MAJOR DIFFERENCE. I was totaly suprised. So the hand meter agrees with the pettit. All iam saying is that the m2 cold air box is a little more restrictive than an open air filter. If he decides to get a vented hood then all the better.

Wow, the HKS Titanium 4" Setup, are you getting a deal for it? Personnaly 1200-1500 bucks for an exhaust is way out of my league. For that much money, I would rather be looking toward a new turbo/new engine.

I did not see any boost control stuff in your list and with that exhaust, your gonna boost spike that engine to death.

BTW: You should know that its only the canister that is Titanium, the rest is Stainless Steel and it comes with the midpipe which is also 4 inchs in diameter.

Don't know about that. I've been revamping and will soon post my similar (more extensive) mods with costs once its a 'fait accompli'. I'm well under $20k without body or wheel mods and other aesthetic equivalents. My mods are equivalent and more, especially since a rebuilt street ported engine $3600 is in there.

Will post soon. Just want the car back and the bill finalized.

I've been told (even dissuaded by sellers) to avoid the Throttle Body. Three respectable sources said not to purchase it from them because its of limited use unless you are pushing over 400 RWHP and have done everything else and gone single turbo.

Just relaying what's been told to me by people who could have sold me a few hundred dollars worth of product....
