The Mazda remans are not rebuilt by Mazda themselves. Mazda does a contract for 2-3 years with US based shops for the rebuilds. So, every 2-3 years, the shop changes. A a few years back, the quality of a reman was crap. The contract as since changed and the quality of the remans have been very good. There is no reason a reman can't take a single turbo or be "beat on".

He now has a new setup, which is not a stock reman.
