They agree with you on looks(if that was the "blah"), but the description still made me think it's got an edge to it that would satisfy in a number of ways.

The NSX would be more refined than the M Coupe, still fun, etc. I think it looks *fantastic*/exotic. Has great performance.

I'd consider those two. I give props to the Z06 performance, but with how common they are(corvette's in general), and large they feel to me(from test driving the C6), *I* wouldn't put it on the list. But they are capable machines!
I dunno, from certain angles the car looks a little off, but then from every other angle the wide, low look is badass. And the thread i posted on Bimmerforums had a LOT of guys who converted from the FD to the M Coupe for a lot of the reasons im considering and they havent looked back.

The NSX has never done it for me. I know they're bulletproof, good performers, i dunno. Ive always been a vette fan, doesnt bother me too much that theyre everwhere, and i LOVE the performance benefits. Basically its between the M Coupe and Z06 for a performance replacement or 540, E46 M3, or S4 for a sports GT.

Anyone consider kit cars? I don't think they'd work for a daily based car but a COBRA or Daytona kit car turnkey would be bad ***!

The only thing I'd replace my FD would be with a C6 Z06 Vette, same weight, it's a 2 seater, and the rest of it...., well you know.

Im gonna have to agree with this one. Although the projected price is 65K. Its going to be a beast. 512hp!! All aluminun chassis, built by the people who made the C5-R's. Aluminum 427ci small block. The list goes on and on...

No mention of an EVOV-VIII?? I love my FD, and the EVO does have a very rice-sedan look, but for driveabilty, practicality, and general allround performance on a budget, nothing I've driven comes close. Or the new STi Forestor. Again, all the practicallity needed to keep the wife happy picking up the kids, and the performance of a WRX STi. I guess you guys in the US can get Porches, Z06s, M3s etc cheap, coz all of these are a HUGE upgrade from an FD in either Australia or Japan. A 2002 Z06 in Japan is 2-3 times the price of a 2002 FD!!!

There are alot of dreamers on this forum
If I ever replace my FD, it will be something with less "to-the-limits" engineering.

1993-1995 Volkswagon Corrado SLC - the car I started with at age 16
1981 Toyota Truck - I live in Utah where wheeling and Moab are king and because Jeeps suck.
1995 Toyota 4Runner - I had one in the past and never got a chance to do much with it before it was sold in favor of the RX-7.

These are a little more down to Earth than the RX7 but I bet the three of these cars are far more reliable than my FD. In any case, I feel lucky to own my FD and will continue to love it until the day I die.

It'd probably be an RX-8, as my next car will have to be something a little more sensible unless I get a better job

91-95 NSX
R32 GTR
Evo VIII

Unrealistically:
Porsche GT3
R34 GTR
04 NSX

C5 or C6 (preferrably Z06). I have driven previous model of M3 and it left me cold.
NSX would be nice also, but I'd rather have 10 year newer Corvette. Besides, they are very rare in Europe.

STi or EVO8 would rock also. Ahh... so many cars. So little money

The c5 or Zo6. It is the best bang for the money. it is a daily drive, it also is closest to the 7 in proformance and only a couple hundred pounds more. It is easily to mod (not too expensive either) to eat anything on the street. what other cars that has a v8 that pushes 350 to 400 hp has and still get 26 mpg.

If I were you, I would look into the Z06 or supra. All the other options are choice cars, but not something I would recommend. If you want to be a redneck, you could look into the Z28 or the WS6's. The cobra's aren't bad either, however, there's only one problem with that......it's a ford.

Oh boy..........
I'll tell you, the Cobra is a lot of bang for the buck. They make great power and handle decently.

Only thing that could replace my FD is an LM or Spirit R. There's no such thing as a replacement for an FD.

(Hmm... maybe a 20B Lotus Elise...)

I would replace mine with some of what you guys are sayin the C6 ZO6. I Just got the magazine and the bad boy has a LS7 7.0 Ltr. 427 in it...500 bhp @ 6200. 475 lb-ft @ 4800. 0-60 in 3.8. Standing 1/4 Mile in 11.7 @ 127mph ( faster than the viper srt-10) and top speed of like 190+. The only bad thing about it ..its gonna probably cost close to just as much as the viper.

The 75k C6 Z06 doesn't fall into the 30k range at all.
