Identifying 99 spec twins
When I purchased my FD, I was anticipating having to sort out the stock turbos(and some other stuff). So, I jumped at the chance to pick up a set of "99 spec" turbos from a friend who's long gone single.
I was hoping someone with carnal knowledge of these turbos could point me to some clear indicators of exactly what iteration of the twins I have.

Thanks for sharing the pics of the Datsun
I have some cheap 99s if someone wants a set. 550 shipped
Front compressor housing is polished and the shaft play is excellent but the manifold has large cracks which are still usable but the center web is cracked all the way through.

post 12 and 14 have pretty good pics of what to look for when identifying 99+ twins.
mainly, compressor housings are bolted instead of held in place with c-clips. you can see a black plastic "abradible" seals in the compressor housings, and its part name is n3a1. (most of the facts where previously stated, but I figured the pics would help)

oh ya lol
n3a1 = 93-95 twin turbos
n3c1 = 96 to 98 twin turbos (only difference from a1's is higher nickel content in the exhaust housings)
n3g1 = 99+ twin turbos.
sorry for the typo in my original post.
