For street applications it seems like the consensus is on an upgraded stock mount and any rad that will fit in stock most go with koyo. For high hp people tend to go v-mount IC, the look of the front mount looks cool from the outside but it blocks very important air going to the radiator.

id save up and go for a vmount intercooler setup... best bang for your buck and one of the best investments as far as cooling goes

trust me, even for street use, you can never go wrong with a vmount..

rotary works, hks, knight sports, rotary extreme, make vmount kits...

I'd worry about changing out the stock AST first. The other options depend on what you plan on doing with the car down the road. I ran a Greddy SMIC and a Fluidyne radiator for a long time with excellent results...

Considering the climate where you live this is my recommendation.

Knock-off Greddy 2-Row FMIC on ebay-$350.00 shipped. Great kit and pretty good quality(plenty for what you need). You can keep your AC and PS. It looks great in the front bumper and comes with nice shiny polished piping.

Koyo N-Flo- Around $350.00 as well. Works great and is nice and shiny as well.

AEM water/meth kit on ebay for $360.00 Shipped. This will do the majority of cooling the air for the engine, more than any intercooler is going to do on its own and is great at prevent detonation.

For less than $1200.00 and a full weekend in the garage you can add these 3 mods and make the fd a lot more reliable and better looking at the same time.

V-mounts are great for the road course guys that are serious, but the price tag is high and few let you retain the AC. The water meth kit will do more than fine and you wont have any coolant temp issues where you live.

Don't forget the for sale section either, I see new/slightly used koyo n-flow radiators on there fairly often for a good price.

I have an N-FLO and am very happy with it, $280 from eBay.

Intercooler is really up to you, I like the sleeper look so I went with a M2 Large SMIC. If you like the FMIC look then like dj said go with a GReddy knock-off.

Same, can't imagine it'll be any different, it's just an IC core and some aluminum piping.

I have not seen a huge difference in temps between the SMIC vs the FMIC as long as it is a legit FMIC and not a knock off. A good core makes all of the difference.

Please, please do not start this debate again. There are a bajillion threads on this (and the issue is a lot more complex than you imply).

@mr2dude9161 - I'd say if your going to bother making a front mount such a complicated installation, why wouldn't you just do a v-mount....

I chose to get one of those cheap ebay smic, fab my down duct for it and use water injection for my current build. (still using stock twins)
The ebay smic is the m2 medium sized one, it allows me to keep a group 51r sized battery and a pettit style k&n intake system with a heat shield. This along with a water injection kit should be plenty for what I plan on making.
If I ever do go to a single turbo in the future, I will definitely custom make my own v-mount system to keep my a/c and power steering as well as to keep costs down. However, a battery relocation is required for any v-mount setups, tho

Vmount!!

I have nothing but awesome things to say about Rotary Extreme's vmount kit. I purchased their Track/Tougue kit for a single. Easy to install, maintains the A/C, adds a PS cooler (I deleted), intigrated tow hook and is beautifully polished. Utilizes a rewelded Koyo radiator.

I even had Ben weld on my Tial 50mm BOV before shipment. It's a beatiful piece that keeps my intake temps & water temps cool as a cucumber! Yes, it's more expensive than most, but it is 100% worth every penny!!! I'd do it the same way 10 times over!

Full pics in my build thread in the Sig.
