They are an upgraded version of the 93-95 twins.
So yes it is an upgrade and yes many feel they are better than the 92-95 stockers

they are the turbos in the.......99 year and up!! Slightly higher performance, I think they made the vehicle 280hp instead of 255hp.

They are very nice, but for that price I'd go single instead of running the chance of having nice new twins and still run into the typical seq. twin BS.

somehow, I highly doubt this is true. This has been discussed numerous times.

But yes, the 99 spec ones are supposed to spool faster, and be able to support higher hp's... among other things.

Personally, I would like to see a dyno of a car with stock turbos then change to 99+ turbos. All I ever hear is that people "think" or "feel" they spool better or faster but nobody really knows. Whenever somebody "upgrades" to the 99+ turbos they usually do a few other things at the same time so the benefit of just the turbos cannot be accurately gauged. The 99+ cars with 280HP did have these turbos, but there were other differences that could also account for the 30HP boost. If you are thinking about spending a bunch of $ to upgrade to the 99+ turbos and your stock turbos are still in great shape I would recommend spending the money elsewhere.

Yes, the 99s are great REPLACEMENT turbos, but it would be silly to spend the money on them if your stock twins are still going good.
