Identify this connector?

This is looking down through the top of the engine bay. right by the hood latch. This connector is facing upwards towards the hood...Anyone have any idea where it should go/connect to?

My guess would be the hood latch position switch for the security system.

Thing is, I cant find anything it's supposed to go to. That's what is confusing me.

The fog light wiring is there even on cars without it. And it's been a while since I really looked, but that looks like the plug on my R1..

What confuses me is there isn't anything "car side" that would connect to that plug that I can see. Its just that harness that is in the bumper shown in the photo.

I am throwing a 3 light airbag code, but the troubleshooting guide in the FSM doesn't mention to test the sensors for that particular code. (It specifies to test pinouts at some plugs, solutions are to replace wiring harness or replace the airbag control module, doesn't mention testing the sensors for this particular code at all. I think its the electrolytic caps in the airbag control module.)

Anyway, That was my original guess, but the center airbag sensor is connected, and they wouldn't have a wire harness that extends down into the lower lip area of the bumper, which is where that connector goes.

there are sensors that read an impact down low near the frame rails for when your in a crash.. my guess is they don't go as low as the lip area but they prob have some play though. Just my guess.. good luck

This. I removed my foglights in favor for the GReddy Vmount, and I have that exact plug behind the bumper. That plug feeds a foglight harness that runs inside the rebar, that’s why is is facing up.

IIRC there’s also an unused connector under the shifter panel for the fog light switch.

^Yep, it's the fog light connector. All FD's had that plug in the front harness, the fog lights have a Y-hanress that plugs into it and goes to the 2 fog lights. The wiring goes inside the bumper bar.
