1986 GXL.
I was looking for the DTC connector as to rig up some LEDs and maybe figure out why it's not starting as per these instructions: http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/article...tion%20Picture
I looked at the coil pack BEHIND the strut tower, not in front of it and found a 6 pin connector similar to the one in the picture. It's not the DTC connector because it's on the wrong side of the strut tower.
However, there is a plug connected to the connector, but all the plug is a loop of wire with two spade terminals jumpering two ports. Is this normal? Should I leave it or remove it?
I'll see if I can borrow a camera if needed....

Hmmm....What should I do with it then?
Here is the connector for the DTC codes...
and here is the connector that was jumpered.
Here's what was plugged into the second connector:

The second connector with the blue jumper plug is your starter kill circuit. With the blue jumper plug removed you won't be able to crank over the engine.

Yep, J-Rat was right the first time.
Try and unplug it and the starter will never engage.
Also, WTF is your leading coil base BLUE???
Who was the dumbshit that did that?
The coil grounds through the aluminum base, so that paint could be interferring with the coil working properly!

HAHA
Well, I plugged it back in, made my code reader for the other plug, fixed the two codes that popped up and it fired right up!!!! HOLY ****!
Thanks for your help.
As for the blue, I have no idea, I think I have a spare laying around, I'll swap em out. I bought this car after it had been sitting for 6 years, the previous owner was an idiot. Blew the engine, tore apart the interior, left his ricer **** in the car (painted gauges, shift ****, vented hood), and then realized he couldn't fix the engine and sold the car.
