Not to knock your hard work in finding and scanning this book, but referring to it as a "Service Manual" is not exactly legitimate in the same manner that Haynes refers to their publication for the FC as such as well. Those that have been here awhile tend to think of the Haynes one as the Fisher-Price of service manuals

After a quick look, this book appears to be half "lets look at these neat FD pictures and talk about this" and half Engine Rebuild guide.

In contrast, my copy of the Eunos Cosmo FSM is a proper Service Manual from Mazda, covering all aspects of the vehicle in question from oil circulation to wiring to the Car Control System. If I wanted to know the electrical impedance to coolant temperature readings for the factory gauge, it's in the Body Electrical section in a handy chart

In all truth, I'd feel better translating the S7, S8 & Cosmo FSMs instead of this book. Wiring diagrams are a bit more useful than "hey look at me I'm a sexy red FD" pictures

It was on some Russian site years ago when I got it, so it's probably gone by now. I'd love to translate it, but I have bills to pay in order to do so and a few of them are on the edge of being shut off

It's in the same league as a Haynes manual. By dictionary definition it qualifies as a service manual, but glosses over enough to lose credibility. Perhaps calling it a "Service Guide" would be better?

A real Service Manual is what comes from the manufacturer, as shown above.

You seem like the kind of person who would argue that theres a difference between a cold drink and a cold beverage.

i can go out in town to one of those translation places and get an estimate on how much it would be to translate the servicing portion of the book and we can get a pot going to pay for it...

is that legit? this way we know its a professional translation and we can get the useful part taken care of. all the other stuff is kind of useless in a book like this as im sure its just general info or something but i can get a quote for that too im sure...

we have those scanned already...it's the Japanese "helpful" manual that we english folks need some translating on. I don't think it has to start off professional...I think a bulk translation to get us started and then we can refine it...
