I broke "it". What is it and is it important?

Hey guys...

I broke the studs that this thing seen here mounts on:

It goes here:

It attatches to the LIM. I've seen it blocked off on my buddy's FD. What is this thing and is it important? Can I block it off? Where would I get a block off plate for it?

If not it looks like I'll have to get a new LIM, AKA kill myself.

Thanks for the help guys.

Errr, looks like the EGR valve. If it is, I don't think you really need it. No idea where you'd get a block off plate, but I don't think it would be hard to make...

It is EGR and you can make a block off plate from some sheet metal at a hardware store.

Make the pictures smaller I can do. Focus? Doubt it. I hate my Dad's camera. I hate all Kodak cameras.

Anyways, what sort of tool do I have to get (that isn't too expensive) that will cut say...1/8th inch sheet metal?

looks like a Cali EGR - ie Electronic. if you are running a stock ECU, you may get some engine codes if you remove it totally.

Yo chris whats up..... Thats just the egr and you dont really need it. Also when you say you broke the studs do you mean the studs on the LIM or you broke the unit itself. I got one laying at my house if you need it and also got a couple of studs when I pulled it off my car. Whatever you want, I also need my hat that i left at your house so i'm going to need to pass by there anyways.
