Someone mentioned to me when i first asked...anywhere from 6,000 to 10,000 buckaroos depending on the state of the interior and exterior.

As someone else said, I'd rather spend a little more money to find a car with a nice paint job and nice interior...because that can be just as expensive to repair and replace as the engine components.

By the way..that's a sweet looking ride...do you plan on having two cars?

Finding FD's with blown motors for sale can be like finding a needle in a haystack at times. To me there are alot on the market right now if that tells you anything.

A street ported motor is around $3000.00-$3500.00 depending on the port size for the motor itself. You have to decide if you're going to go with a reman motor or just rebuild the one you got. Sometimes just buying a reman is cheaper. Fully installed a street ported motor should run you from $4100.00-$4900.00

actually i plan on getting rid of this turboII and buy a beater and try to work up a crappy FD into a nice car. i'd like the car to the as crappy as possible. (interior and exterior) and i plan on buying a nice lightly streetported engine and going bareblock and put the engine in myself so i dont have to worry about all that damn labor. labor costs seem to be included with the prices in this 3rd gen section alot
i wish i could take the T2 up to the shop and say "fix it" but that costs money

so i should be looking for around 6-7 grand for a crappy FD?

reality check. lets not get ahead of ourselfs here. dreams are nice though arent they. how about waiting for the renesis to hit the market first before makeing a statement like that.

*edit* this response was very ignorant before i changed my mind to delete what i originaly wrote.

I just bought one for $8800 interior was great exterior was pretty good just a couple of dings and recently rebuilt motor that overheated. My other fd was even better $10500 with 50k on reman engine, harness and turbos, car came with a fuel pump, pfc with commander, full exhaust, koni yellows, fluidyne radiator, m2 trailing arm and toe links, recent act clutch job. car ran beautiful and strong till it met a pole when someone bumper checked me when i was in the middle on a turn. Sorry i'm still attached to my old fd. My friend picked on up for $5500 in 1998, it was one of those weird miracles. I've noticed the fds come in packs, sometimes theres tons of them on the market and sometimes theres none at all.
