Is it fine to drive the rx7 with a vacuum leak? And also, what should I expect to pay to 1. Get a test to see if it has a leak, which I think it does. And 2. To get the leak fixed? Ball park of amount of hours would be great!

Yes. Most people do.

1) Depends. But probably about an hour of labor, sooo, $70~$100?

If it's simple and can be easily identified without popping off the UIM, you're golden. But a lot of times, the symptoms can be a results of bad check valves, solenoid, etc. On top of that, it might be a good time to upgrade all hoses to silicone if you haven't done that yet.

Whatever the case, you are VERY luck y to have Pineapple Racing close by:

Do they service cars? For some reason I was under the impression they only do motor rebuilds.

I always thought they did service. I guess it's worth a call.

How old are your vacuum hoses? As Matt said, it might be time to get in there and do a full hose replacement anyways. PITA but one of the best ways to learn the system for future diagnosis as well as clean up the engine bay.
