Cool how dumb can I get

OK, get ready to laugh - took my RX7 in for a service, and picked it up that evening.

Really worried as it was it's first with that particular garage, but it had been reccomended so I took the chance.

As I drove out of the garage, I stalled it. but put it down to my driving and tried again. However driving along the road, it was clear that something was wrong, there was no power there, and everytime I took my foot off the accelerator, it felt like the car was about to die.

I was furious, all sorts of problems raced through my mind - and I was about to turn the car round and rant at them to fix it... when I noticed a little red light on the dashboard....

.... it was the handbrake light - they'd tightened the mechanism up, so where it would usually drop to the floor when I released it, it had only gone down a bit - so the poor car was trying to fight against a couple of rear disks.

Well ,you live and learn.

No lasting damage luckily - even better, no lasting damage to my pride had I gone back and ranted at them. Or even worse, if I'd gone back, they'd not found anything wrong, I'd driven off, with the handbrake down properly, and then spent sleepless nights worrying what had caused it in the first place.

Or perhaps I'm just thinking about it too much...

Had my brother - in - law help me wire in my gauges for me ( boost & temp ). When riding home I couldn't get the passenger window to go down. I called him up & spent 10 minutes with him trying to find out what we did wrong when I noticed that the window lock was on.

ME.

my sister did that once...back when I was driving a 94 Maxima my junior year in college...I had to drop it off to get serviced, and she followed me home in it aftre picking it up and burned out the emergency brake the entire way home b/c it was on and she didnt know what the sound it was making was (sweet girl but lacks certain real life survival skills), so after it got home and I found out I had to take it right back to the service center....

You could have always gone back and told them that they adjusted it too tight, and you "re-adjusted" it!

I once took my car in to get the A/C checked because it wasnt blowing cold air and i figured the compressor shitted itself. After 5 minutes, he told me he solved the problem and had this HUGE smile on his face. I never thought to press the A/C button on the inside, so it was just blowing non-cooled air :-o To say the least, i paid him $15 just for retard tax

Years ago I was at the drag strip with a big block Chevy, lined up to run a big block Ford sponsored by a local agency. We pushed the car to the staging area and I couldn't start it. Even pushed it down the strip slightly past the starting line. One of the fellows in the "crew" realized we had put coverings oner the 2 carbs. He got out of the push truck, ran around to the front, opened up the hood, and removed the covering. Eveybody in the stands roared. Really embarrassed. Got it started and the good part, beat the Ford.
I'll never forget it!!!!!

In my '85 300ZX it tells you in a female vioce speaking plain english "Emergency brake is on" if you start to drive with the brake on! It also will tell me if either door is open, if the gas is low, or if I leave the headlights on after the key is out and the door is open. Nobody believes me when I tell them my car talks to me

hah, that reminds me of that old Eddie Murphey stand-up bit where he talks about he bought a car with a voice and leaves the lights on, etc on dates, so when he opens the door, it says "Beep! Lights are on(in sexy female voice)" and his date would be inpressed by the car...lol....

then he talked about voiced cars in the hood...

(in ghetto voice)"Beep! Say, man, you left your damn lights on......what the ****, you blind AND deaf?...TURN OFF your ****** lights!"

"Beep! Say man, somebody stole your batt'ry. I say we go get the mother ******."

sorry, I thought it was funny.....

Yeah, I did that once in my ex-mother's-in-law turbo Probe GT, it was that BRIGHT glow coming from the rear disc brakes when we stopped at a restaurant that gave it away.......
