14 psi on stock turbos is enough. You could run more for short spurts, but I don't think it's worth it. If your car has run well for a long enough time on 14 psi for you to get bored with the power level, count your blessings. Enjoy your car. If you want more power, get a turbo upgrade.
Have fun
Jim

You don't want to push 14 psi on a stock intercooled, stock ecu'ed rx7. It's just not smart. The turbos will be under more strain as well as the fuel system. Even with the AFC you still won't be able to prevent fuel cut. When you try to push too much boost, the ecu will turn the injectors off. Look into modifying in other ways than just turning up the boost. I'm only running 10 psi with a full exhaust, intake, and ecu, and that is plenty fast.

as P'cola said, you cannot run more than 10-11 psi with the stock ecu. It will hit fuel-cut. Not to mention the fact that trying to make your turbos hit 14 psi with only a cat-back will result in very high intake temps and fried turbos.

Spend the time and money to do things right. Running 14 psi on a regular basis requires:

*ecu
*downpipe
*cat-back
*preferably a hi-flow cat or mid-pipe
*intake
*larger intercooler
*larger secondary injectors
*higher flowing fuel pump
*most importantly -- TUNING
