high oil pressure

My oilpressure hits 120 at about 3500 rpm- is this a problem? When hot, it idles around 30, but no matter how hot, it pegs the needle above 3500.

I think you shouldn't see anything more than 120. Mine does it too. I think it's excessive, but not dangerous. When I tear into my motor this winter, I'm going to drop that down just a little.

The higher the better isn't accurate. Too much of anything can be bad. You don't want to see anything higher than that. Your idle pressure is fine.

Don't mean to steal this thread but,

Sometimes mine goes to 0 at idle but then other times its normal. Should i be worried or is it just because of the stock gauge being shitty.

Common problem. The oil pres senders fail all the damn time and or become flacky.

60 psi at warm idle is excessive. But I don't trust the stock gauge. 0 psi at idle is almost certainly a problem with the gauge (well, the sender).
