Help with my new problem...

The car is 95% done. Sinlge turbo upgrade, fuel system upgrade, new HKS ignition and some other normal upgrade stuff....I was going to drive it home from the shop tonight but it has a problem. The car start right up and idles perfect; however, when I turned on the AC the car died. It did the same thing when I turned on the headlights.

Any ideas????

I will be installing the power fc tomorrow. I was going to drive it home on the stock ecu...no boost of course.

Several of the ground wires were removed during the single upgrade. The car had a ton of new ground wires on it when i bought it. Could this be causing the problem?

dat is a possibility. do you have any friends with fd's so you can try to place back all the factory grounds.? thats a good place to start. make sure everyting is working b/f you install the power fc. b/c it need to be working properly so teh power fc will self learn to idel the car smothly and with the a/c and crap. plus if you install the power f/c with this problem and another problem pops up you wont b able to seperate the two.

Do you still have the idle control solenoid running? It is located just behind the throttle body and is attached to the UIM. It helps regulate idle when electrical loads such as A/C or headlights are turned on.

There is something called an electrical load unit that is suppose to bump up the RPM when the AC or headlights or fans are on. Page F-134 of the service manual.

Well you have no ISC now.. anyways, how quickly does it die and how fast do the RPMs drop?

Idle air control valve controls what you're describing. It adjusts your idle when electrical loads are put on the motor, ie: headlights, a/c, etc etc etc.......

Adjust the idle to a higher rpm with the idle bleed screw located under the elbow. Try 1000 rpm idle and see if it still dies when you add electrical load.

This should work if your ISC is disconnected, otherwise, the factory ECU will try to counteract this addl air with the ISC.

on that note.....just for another opinion. wount reducing the number of grounding points create a possible short situation..it dosent sound like hes grounding out newhere or what ever...that just sounds weird to me..

Glad to see your problem is gone. Hey what did you use for your addition? Like normal 2 or 4 guage wire or like the copper braided cables?

And also, what stock ground seemed more likely to fail. Sorry for the many questions, my car has a hesitation problem when the headlights are on. Sometimes it does it and sometimes not. Mostly it does it when the car has been driven for a while.

This needed to stay and assist you in the RPM adjustments when things like the AC, lights, heater etc are turned on
