got no pills?

not sure if u guys are gonna believe me or not but i took my turbos off today so i can get the wastegate ported tomorrow but believe it or not i don't have any pills in my lines. i've got my car for over a yr now and drive it daily have put 10K miles. i have intake, dp and catback for a yr with stock ecu running .9-1 bar without any boost controller and i had no problems wat so ever. jus thought i'd share with u guys cause fd3s_rx7 who helped me take off my turbos said wen he didnt have his pills in his car, he had little boost but he couldnt believe it wen he saw i had no pills and have never really had any boost problems besides my couplers breaking

With the pills out you will run less boost (to stock waste gate spring 7 psi)

Now if the line was Pinched then you would have problems...

1 bar is 14.7 psi, thats ALOT OF BOOST for the stock ECU...

I don't have pills too.... there is a electrical connector that I right underneath the upper intake manifold and when I plug it out... psi drops to 7 psi... but when I plug it in.... boosts up to 15 psi!!!~~~ ofcourse my power FC computer shuts off the injectors when it reaches 1 bar.... but... no worrys...heheheh.

Some turbos have the restriction in the nipples rather than having pills in the lines.

hmmmmm but does anyoen have a picture of these dman pills, not where they are located but what they look like? Do they sit right in side the lines as in you can't even see them, ooorrrr do they connect with 2 silicone hoses? as in : Hose:pill:hose :

If they are not there inside and I do need them, can I replace them with something else or do I have to go to a mazda dealer to buy these pills?

They are small metal "cylinders" with small holes drilled through them. They are stuffed into the hose going to the actuator, and the pill limits the speed that boost pressure can move through the line.

Some of the newer turbos had the pill built into the nipple of the actuator.

I agree about the original poster - running THAT much boost on a stock ECU is insane. Are you sure you're talking about the right metric units, and not PSI? I just can't see the stock system creeping THAT much with your mods, and I'm also amazed that you haven't a) hit fuel cut and b) haven't destroyed the motor yet.

As Dale said, they are inside the lines so you will not see them. If you take the hoses off and blow through them you should be able to tell if there are pills in there. The airflow will be restricted. If your original hoses were replaced with silicone hoses there is a good chance that the pills were not transferred to the new hoses. Keep in mind though that you may have the turbos with the restriction built into the nipples (as max stated).

Some people have used holley carb jets instead of the pills, but I would recommend that you get replacements from Mazda or better yet, just buy a boost controller.

Might you have a chipped ECU? Or a bad boost gauge? I can't imagine any circumstances by which you could hit 13.7 psi and not get fuel cut.

I saw a picture of a pill in my previous search, but I just tried searching again and couldn't find it! I think it may have been in the second gen section, but the pill looked the same as the FD pills.

I could just put in some manual boost controllers in thier place right? Some valves? But does it really cause lower PSI number sin first gear becasue it is not a dynamic controller? I'ma poor *** kid tryin to make it big obbviously haha, so I can't throw all the cash aroudn lie kyou fat cats btu whatever. I hear this isnt a bad way to go if you dont have any pills?

When I was running DP, MP, and CB exhaust...I thought I was all good running around 12 psi. Later on it started running 4psi and I was like WTF. I had a busted coupling. Replaced it, turbos spiked to 15.5psi when the second turbo came on I tried to remedy this by taking the pill out and just running an open line. Car ran at around 11 psi with a 13psi spike but still hit fuel cut at the top of the gear, so I took out the MP.
