Going for a Vmount, on an automatic?
Going for a Vmount, on an automatic?
Yeah, this is the case:
I have plans for buying a complete Vmount setup for my loved FD.
But my car is the touring-X model, which has the automatic gearbox, and A/C. Which gives me two radiators more to fight with.
Is it even possible to get all 4 radiators to fit in a Vmount?

yeah...figured but the fact that he called them all radiators is concerning but maybe its a language slip seeing denmark in the location.
We already know vmounts fit in failry easy with radiator, a/c...just relocate/reduce the tranny cooler and or condensor if its that big of an issue. I think it'll depend on your vmount.

Oh. Yes. First of all. Sorry for calling them radiators. I know of course that i only have ONE radiator :-D
I'll start to look at different vmounts tomorrow then. Or else i'll just go custom :-)
Is there any huge difference in vmounts?
I hope that you guys will help. As we don't have many rx7 owners here in Denmark, and most of them are running stock engines :-)

Well, I'm going to be running the largest stock mount ic with a optima yellow top 51r still in the stock location. Also, I will create an air duct to funnel the air from the nose to the ic with minimal leakage. This should work well with the setup I plan on running right now. V-mounts are very nice too but, I don't plan on running more then 350hp with this current engine anyways.
V-mounts are nice setups, but most kits require you to relocate the a/c condenser, trans cooler and battery.
here is a kit sold by Jason @ rx7store.net

here is a great write up of a custom stock mount intercooler with the battery relocated to the trunk, allowing a much bigger intercooler. (you can also get an idea of how to do a custom v-mount through this thread)
here is some more information on intercoolers, and the specs of the name brand kits sold by pettit, pfs, ect.

Technically they are all radiators. They are using the cooler ambient air to pull away radiated heat from the fluid inside them. So he was not wrong at all. Although technically, when you take into account the commonly accepted car jargon, heat exchangers would be the better term to use when grouping multiple radiators with different internal fluid types into one category.
