glowing turbo and DP

Hey after noticing some 10-6 boost patterns i noticed my downpipe and turbo are glowing after testing out some boost patterns. Any ideas.. I heard this is because of a clogged cat.

Ever see those tech articles or ads in magazines where they either show a photo of the turbos and exhaust manifold? Glowing...mmmm. I've seen my DP glow when I opened up my hood outdoors in the night time. It's just hot. 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. Yum.

what do u mean by running close to perfect? i know its not perfect right now....But at any point, should i see the turbo glow tho? All i did was just kicked it on the freeway for like 30sec just to check the boost patterns like 2x and went home and saw it glowing...apart from that the boost reads 10-6-7 patterns... and everyone once in a while i'll get my 11psi with the secondaries?? So what could be the problem..just trying to solve my boost problem.

MINE GLOW TOO

Mine do it too. I have posted this question before and never go an answer. I actually blew out the manifold gaskets one night (,but I think this was from a loose manifold bolt). That was when I first noticed it. I first suspected it was a clogged pre-cat, so when I had the turbos off replacing the gaskets I installed a down pipe. I am still running the stock mid cat ,stock cat back, and stock computer. Now it just glows faster. If I make one run say from 0 - 100mph, stop get out and look my turbo manifold will be glowing red. It will remain a dim red until I shut the car off and let it cool off. As long a I don't run the car hard it won't glow, but as soon a you get on it, the glowing begins. I also have a air/fuel meter and it stays well in the rich. I would be interested to know if this is ok? Thanks

No matter how hard I run my car, I have run it HARD, and came into the garage, turned the lights off, and my HKS dp still never glowed red to any extent, I also have the 95 turbos, or the new ones (with the pills built into the housing) maybe they have better heat dissipitation? I dont know, I have a perfect boost pattern too.

My turbos have always glowed after some highway pulls. As I undertand it, if you're on boost, the turbos will get hot (and thus glow). They're spinning at some ungodly (140k rpms?) speed, so it makes sense, no?

I don't think it's anything to worry about.
