Main Engine Wiring harness question
Im about to do an Auto to Manual tranny swap in my 3rd gen and was thinking about hot wiring the auto main engine wiring harness instead of buying a whole new 5 speed main engine wiring harness. I have heard this is how some people do it. Is it hard? What all needs to be done to the auto harness to make it work for 5 speed? Any info involvin the wiring harness would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey man.. I bet your 7 is all decked out now huh.. Yea, i have all the parts for it now except Clutch, light weight flywheel and 5 speed main engine wiring harness.
My friend is gonna do the swap. Hope we can do it.. Im mainly worried about the wiring harness thing. I hear you can hot wire the auto one , but im not sure how hard that is or if its simple enough.
Send me an Email at Jsiv11@hotmail.com when u gonna be in jax again sometime. We can hang out or something.

I know there will be a difference in safety switches at least. The inhibitor switch in the automatic is used to prevent the car from starting in any gear other than park or nuetral. And the 5-speed has a nuetral safety switch that only allows starting with the clutch in. Don't know if the plugs are identical.
