Gaping Sparkplugs
How many of you out there use gaped sparkplugs? I am having high RPM breakup and I have read several threads where people recommending using gaped plugs as a cure but I just wanted to get another opinion on it.
Thanks
Thanks
Everyone is fine with all 9s or the stock 7s and 9s setup.
Maybe it is just time to change yours out with new ones or check out other possible problems. I don't think not having gapped ones is your problem.

I've been using gapped NGK B10EGV plugs for a while. They do seem to reduce break-up at high RPM for me under high boost. You need a thin-walled spark plug socket to install them. They are not surface-discharge plugs, so you can adjust the ground electrode to set the gap. I have read that they reduce power slightly versus surface-gap plugs, but if you get break-up with the surface-gap plugs and don't get it with the B10s, it would seem to reason that you will get more power with the B10s. I have been too thrifty to spring for the NGK rotary racing plugs yet.
B10EGV plugs are less than $10 each (I think I paid $5 or $7).

I think mine are the same that Max is running.
I'm running 10's all around and you need a very thin wall socket to change them. You should be just fine will all 9's unless you're heavily modified.
I have to get the 10's from a motorcycle shop.

I got mine from a local motorcycle shop, too. That was an interesting conversation.
They still had to special order them, but it didn't cost me anything and I had them in a few days. I think I got some from sparkplugs.com as well.
There is an Iridium version with an X in the part number that might be worth a look, too. B10EIX might be that part number, but that is just from memory -- I am not sure it's right.
