Finished my installs!!!! wow!

Hey guys, today with the help from DCP Motorsports in New Orleans I finished all my installs and all I can say is WOW!

Done today:
Power FC
Bonez 3" Wrapped DP
Bonez Hi-Flo Cat
Removed Air Pump/Pulley kit
Greddy SMIC w/ Apexi BOV
Efini Y-Pipe

also replaced the a/c rad fan motor, replaced rad spacers, replaced missing boost pill in secondary turbo and outer tie rod ends.... Yes busy day.

Note: the air pump removal pulley kit just BARELY fits in behind the Radiator hose!!!! Like 1/1000 inch!!! once we tightened hose up it snugged in real nice but made my heart drop since I had just pulled air pump off and wasn't watching where the pieces were going, lol.

I found my boost problem!!!!! Missing pill. done.

car runs awesome! 1 thing, primary turbo is putting out consistent 12 psi, but secondary (which had never worked corectly prior to today) puts out like 15 psi! This is more than I want.

I am assuming I need to change wastegate or get a boost controller.....

Suggestions are very welcome....

Thanks now I am going to bed.

Great work man. Got any pics of the install and what it looks like now? About the boost problem, just get a boost controller and thats the end of that. Great job.

You can control boost with the PFC. There are two settings, the actual boost number, and the (forget the term they use - call it on/off ratio for the solenoid). It works fine that way. I have similar mods. to yours and that's what I did to set the boost (PFC came with it set at 12 PSI and it went above that). I turned mine down to around 10-11 PSI. I was going to set it to 10 PSI but I left it "too long" and got used to the power closer to 12, so settled for 10-11.

Do you have a selenoid hooked up to the pfc to control boost???
Zonblitz doesn't have a boost controller..... so how is he supposed to control boost?

Anyways, A boost controller would be wise. There was a post not long ago of someone using a different selenoid instead of the apexi power fc boost control selenoid. Check into that and also there have been people that have had bad experiences with the pfc controlling boost.
Glad to hear your car is running well

The stock ecu and the PFC both control boost by operating the exisiting solenoids. I forget which one controls the boost - I think it's the wastegate solonoid.

I suspect those who have trouble controlling boost with the PFC just set the boost level and don't realize they have to mess with the on/off ratio as well. It works fine on my car and it did when I had a mid-pipe as well.

The on/off ratio is called the "Duty Cycle." They might also use the term "Pulse Width Modulation."

me either, I inherited them... I plan on replacing within the next few months.

Thanks!

If anyone is very familiar with PFC could you give me step by step directions as to how to turn my boost down a bit, don't want to blow the motor before I get a chance to get a boost controller.

Are you using the commander or do you have the datalogit?

you're gonna need that datalogit. we have a civic at the shop with a PFC and without that dtalogit it made life very difficult. Once we got the cable we were good to go!

You don't need datalogit to operate the boost control. Read the PowerFC manual so you can get familiar with basic operation.

15psi is too much boost on stock injectors plus no tuning. Once you find the boost control screen on the Commander, set target boost to 0.80 on both primary and secondary then start with low %, around 40% and work your way up to get a consistent boost pattern.
