FD Intake Kits

I am running the stock air box and piping and i know Apex-i makes a kit to keep all the same piping and just add the filter...

my question is what other companies make kits to keep all the stock piping. And its fine if it replaces the main turbo intake pipe, but i dont wanna mess with all the blow offs and rerouting pipes

or do they make like a universal backing plate that you can stick any filter on and keep all the hoses.... if that makes sense

let me know what there is and in yall's opinions whats the best etc etc

Thanks Guys!

Unless you need the space, there is no real performance reason to remove the stock airbox. You can simply modify the stock airbox for a little more performance if that's what you are after:

If you need the space for a larger SMIC or FMIC piping, you can do something inexpensive like this:

The Pettit Racing Kit takes care of all that http://shop.pettitracing.com/pettit_.../i-408874.aspx

So does the HKS RS Kit.

I would assume if you are going with an FMIC, you might also look to replace the stock BOV with something to weld onto your FMIC piping. If not, you can vent those to atmosphere or use a small lawn mower filter on them to reduce the noise. The CRV when running sequential will vent until around 4200 rpms which can be annoying. Most people route the CRV hose down to the ground to divert the noise. The airpump relief hose will vent the airpump excess air so similar to the CRV, it can be pointed down to the ground.

As mentioned, an intake kit will provide options for these but you'll need to figure out which kit will work with your FMIC piping. i.e. just buying a kit may not solve your problem.

you don't have to reroute the blowoff valves back into the intake system, you can just let it vent to air. also as for the airpump, you need some pipe and a mini k&n filter. this setup is pretty much the same as pettit's intake kit. http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/pettitintake.htm

Apexi and HKS both make intakes that route all the factory plumbing. http://www.banzai-racing.com/store/9...KS_intake.html

I've got an old Greddy/Trust kit that does the same thing. Buy you would need to clean them up and purchase new filters and couplers. PM me if interested.
