If fitment wasn't a problem, would the efficeincy be the same or better?

any update HC?

shouldn't there be 3 - 18mmx1.5 and 1 - 22mmx1.5 because the stock oil coolers take 18mm? or am i reading wrong info around the forum?

My oil pressure pegs the guage at cold start up. Maybe close to 100 psi.

A clue may be Trans Oil cooler lines are usually held on with simple light duty clamps. Compare that with the fittings used in the FD's oil system.

Is there a writeup for this yet? I'm curious to see how the 2nd cooler was mounted.

id prefer the aftermarket coolers...they look so much better than the stockys. price sucks though

can the stock oil coolers be cleaned with the same chemicals used to clean houseold a/c coils? because mine have so many bugs and dirt stuck in the coils

That would be American Cooler Service, www.americancooler.us/index

Arlington, Tex. They have all the FAA certifications to do aircraft coolers.

In the UK we can use Motec oil coolers which aren't too expensive, I have the dual oil coolers but uprating them is on my 'to do' list.

I cleaned mine up using a decent sized paint brush and Auto Glym engine cleaner, they came up like new!

Howard could you post a picture of the pick set you use. I don't understand what you mean by "oval" shaped pick. Thanks.

I got the R1 set up but I never had oil temp hookup, anyway I tap the bolt that goes to the oil filter lines, and hook up auto meter gauge, This pass tesuday in NJ (1-8-08) temp was mid 60's, so I curious to see what the R1 oil coolers does, I start up thr car let run for 1 hr in the garage oil temp climb to 200, take the car out for spin on highway and cruise around 40 mph (MODERATE TRAFFIC) and I saw it drop to 180, continued to drive to nice highway so I can open it to 130 a couple of times and still read 180, after taht I cruise at 80 and hit the need stay at 160, now I have those rearview mirror that tell u outside temp, and my sensor is right infront of the left side oil cooler, and at all times I have 54 degree reading. So end result the R1 oil coolers is worth it. I will continued to monitor more when the temp rise in NJ I will post more result.
