Unhappy Clutch issue? Fulttering RPM in Gear when clutching

Hi All,

Car getting some love now that I have time again!

Noticed that the car idles fine in neutral, but when I put the car into gear and have the clutch down the RPM seems to continuously flutter fairly low and then back up to normal idle (almost like it is going to stall, but wont get low enough before it idles up again).

Not sure what the issue might be, clutch not fully disengaging? I'd imagine if this was the problem it would be to lurch forward a bit when the clutch pedal is pressed
Vacuum leak maybe?
compression issue? I'd imagine this would show up in gear or in neutral, not just one or the other!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Trigs

the Clutch Switch is the primary culprit here, when it fails the ECU doesn't turn on the idle mode in the ECU

That or maybe the plastic/rubber button that pushes the switch has broken or fallen off. I've seen multiple threads on this.

since it’s a simple on/off continuity switch why not try testing the electric trigger signal first?

Actually did some scouting before and actually the connector was not even plugged in.... plugged in and fixed right away! Gotta love the freebies

Reminds me of the old electronics adage - make sure it's plugged in before you go crazy trying to fix it.
