in-car video camera?
does anyone have a video camera set up inside the car, or like on the front bumper or anything like that? i've thought about this alot, it would be cool to make an RX-7 tribute of some sort, or just for $h/ts and giggles.
i already searched, only came up with one really bad 3rd gen wreck. TIA

I strapped a video cam to my rear strut tower bar. I just got a nut that would fit the video cam and thread it first thur a metal plate. i then just strapped it to the rear strut tower bar. Usually I use it to either tape whats going on out the front windsheild or to record my Apexi Super AFC (kinda like data logging). It works great for me.
Good luck on your videocam project.

that sounds do-able skunks... did you have any problems with the removable wall, or do you just leave that out when you have the camera mounted?
also is it in a fixed position, or are you able to angle it anyway you want it? my first thought would be that you have to be able to shoot in any direction to be able to record the AFC.
one more.
how much clearance, or rather, field of view does the camera have?
thanks for the quick reply, i'm gonna have to try and design something to mount a camera with now.

I had one mounted on the front spoiler. Unfortunately that was on my old car and the sale was conditional that the camera stayed there. One day, the camera will return..

I can angle it up and down pretty easily and it zooms in pretty good. the removable wall is not an issue although i took mines out cuz my racing harness straps would not beable to fit with the wall in there.
heres a little vid of it taping out the front, note my video cam to pc connection is crap so thats why it looks so bad, I am currently taking donations for a new digital video cam

Blow up or win
Personally I'd prefer a flat screen tv, microwave, fridge, and mini-bar but that's just me. I dare someone to make an FD3S Limo with a 4 rotor! Monster Garage time........

To mount the camera on the strut tower bar is very dangerous.
If you get in an accident that thing will rip your head off, through the seat that is.
Not a good idea to get hit with a 5lb 80mph projectile from behind for example.
weight x speed= Energy
