Broke my diff! what to do now?

i cracked the case in my diff for the second time around. What can i do to prevent this or a replacement diff? i know something about the turbo 2 but do you just replace the internals or the whole case?

search?

the TII carrier is a direct swap into the FD case, will alleviate some of the issue but not all of it which is usually attributed to your style of launching techniques and tools used. snapping the drivetrain off a launch is hard on any differential setup. if you're good you can even do without but with your foot slip the clutch just a bit until it takes up the slack before sidestepping the clutch but this also depends on the clutch and how grabby it is also, usually more in the range of multi disc versus puck.

worst case move up to a 8.8 or 9" which is going to cost a few bones.

If it's your case that's going and not just your differential, then I'd have to think it's something to do with your suspension and subframe, and the deflection caused by it. Or you can do it like me and say screw it and put the Ford 8.8 in.

The ford 8.8 is the way to go if u got the money like azuredrake said. U will never have to worry about breaking the rear again

Replace the diff:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-parts-99/low-mile-jspec-stock-lsd-diff-10-4-10-1-1-4-30-1-a-932205/

Then buy a Heavy duty DIff brace

Save your money..

replace your stock FD3S Diff complete

and then buy this, or fab up your own..:

http://www.pfsupercars.com/Mazda/Drivetrain/

Both Peter and Ray have used this in their drag racing applications where 1.3xx 60 fts where cut and never had a case failure. Ernie uses this same cradle in his 735 whp RX7 with no failures reported.

Done..

You are not making enough HP nor torque yet to substantiate Cobra IRS swap..

Sure, the TII S4 clutch type diff unit is preferred by many..yet why waste all that money buying the diff unit and then buying all the parts required to install it into the housing, and pay the labor for a pro to do it...when in the end you will just break the case again...

replace the diff and get the correct diff brace and you should be out less the $850.00
