Boost problem, 8 psi across the board

8 PSI from 2000 to 8500 rpm

Any takes as to what could be the problem?

Could it be the check valves or solenoids

Please advise,

Andre

Check your y-pipe to crossover tube coupling.

If your primary is 8psi, you probably have a slight vacuum leak somewhere. Check all the vacuum lines, and like someone said, check the little coupler from the Y-pipe to the crossover pipe. Or check for cracks in the IC hoses.

I don't agree with any of the above causes.

If the "pills" are missing in the WG and PC lines you will get about 7psi. Maybe your boost guage is off, maybe you get 8psi. I'd look for the pills in the lines. They are basically little brass pellets with a small hole in them that fit inside the hoses that actuate both the wastegate and precontrol. Do a search, I'm sure there are pics out there!

I checked the couplers, Y-pipe turbo`s out let, throttlebody, piping etc.
However there only 8 psi boost still.

I notice that a one-way check valve line off. I check the pills and notice no pills present. What I don`t understand is when I got the car, I install a downpipe and catback and the car was running 15-17 psi for a year and a half... All of a sudden the outlet nipple on the primary turbo had blown out, so I re-install and secured it and now all I see is 8spi from 2200 to 8500 rpm

So the what do I check next...The solenoids that`s under the UIM?

Please advise

Thanks,

Andre

If I must install holley jet to increase boost what size pill must I use for the wastegate and turbo pre controll

How were you able to run 15-17psi without some sort of boost controller? You'll have to be more clear about how you were able to run 15-17psi w/o a boost controller or any pills in the wastegate line. Clear this up so that we can further help you.

As I stated before, I bought the vehicle and installed a down pipe and catback exhaust. Therefore, the vehicle was running at 15 lbs boost and sometimes spiking to 17 lbs. After a year and a half of constant abuse, I decided to install a Greddy Profec B to control boost spiking and was then set at 15 lbs on high boost.

As I mentioned, the nipple on the primary turbo outlet blew out and after reinstalling it, the vehicle constantly runs at 7-8 lbs from 2200 to 8500 rpm.

This is something I cannot understand myself. I inspected the wastegate pills and there are no pills present. Maybe the wastegate was sticking or something.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, please call me because it's easier to explain over the phone. 561- 716-2678.

Thanks,

Andre

Well, for one thing, you won't have the wastegate pill with the Profec B installed!

When you say nipple on primary turbo outlet blew out, what do you mean? Are you sure you repaired this properly? What did you remove to get to that area?

What kind of fuel mods are you running to not have blown your motor at 17psi of boost?

I am really curious to see what sort of modifications you have done on your car to run that much boost. It could be that your repair job was done incorrectly, thus creating a leak. The leak would result in a default boost of ~7psi (internal wastegate spring). If I have some time tomorrow, I will be sure to give you a call so that we could help you figure things out.

Fuel mod are as follows:

Pfs Purple box with pink 9 software, Tuned to 11.2 AFR`s
stock injectors tuned a 69% duty cycle EGT reading 1350 degree`s on load
2 Supra pumps in tank 1/2" fuel line coming from tank to fuel rail
SX fuel pressure regulator set at 42 psi
B9EV cold plugs Gap at .022

The nipples is on the stock twins on the primary turbo outlet . There are 2 nipples present. This is where the line with the pills are suppose to go to the wastegate and turbo pre-controll.

I guess that i`ll check the nipples again to see if any JB weld got into the line by accident when I was installing it.
