Has anyone ever used this fuel system cleaner? I read reviews online and this product is praised, but I'm just curious if anyone has tried this on a rotary.

I take these kinds of products and their reviews especially with a grain of salt. Reason is because nobody ever measures the difference between the before/after. It may work on some level but whether it's worth the money is always uncertain.

If you want your injectors clean, IMHO there is no substitute for pulling them, sending them out for an ultrasonic cleaning and flow test. There you will see a measurable difference.

I couldn't agree with you more. However, I was lucky enough to be given 2 cans of this product for free. So, given such, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try it.

Additionally, the reviews I read stated before and after results. I read that there is a very positive, notable difference.

Albeit, I doubt it matters, I could not find a review on this product on a 13BREW.

Would fuel system cleaners not cause a problem with lubrication in a rotary motor?

I wouldn't think so if you pre-mix, as I do.

Owners have been using it for years on rotaries:

I premix as well, I was just thinking that it may still cause an issue. I may start using a little of this every oil change if it helps. I use Sea Foam on my direct-injected cars, but I'll stick with what's been tested on a rotary.

I'm no expert but reading all these types of topics in all my years here, I believe just using a quality 93 octane fuel plus normal oil change intervals, and with pre mixing, there is no need for a fuel injector cleaner. If your fuel injectors aren't working properly, you'll know. Using a fuel injector cleaner on properly working injectors and you won't see a difference, you're just wasting money. Save that money towards your next oil change or your next plug change.

IMHO all the off the shelf fuel cleaners are part of the placebo effect. Unless someone can provide before and after results

What about written testimony from someone who was/is in the injector business:

They do help, but yes they aren't as effective as removing them and having them professionally cleaned.

I do it as preventive maintenance on my other cars, I'm not saying it's going to fix an existing problem though. I'm still deciding on whether or not to do it on my FD. I'm a little leery as finicky as these engines are.

I have been using it for years. It came very highly recommended by an FD mechanic. Never had any injector problems. I use it once a year.
