BG44K Fuel System Cleaner?

I did a search but couldn't find anything related to 3rd gens.

Is BG44K fuel system cleaner recommended or not?

Can you explain the detrimental effects of using BG44K in an FD's fuel system? I'm curious to know why it's not recommended. I don't know much about rotaries but everyone with piston engines swear by this stuff.

Yes.

A good friend of mine who has worked on Mazdas for 20 years reccommends it. He had 10 years factory training at a Mazda Dealer, and another 8 years working on FD's (and other cars) since. I ran a bottle thru my car with no ill effects. I can't say for sure that there was any benefit to using it because I did a tune up at the same time. The car ran great afterward.

I use it about every 6 months and I have had no problems with it. My compression at KD was excellent and my injectors were perfect when Dave checked 3 months ago. I wouldnt use anything else. I have heard great things about it and nothing negative. A lot of the other additives dry out the apex seals.
Just my .02. Good luck.

I don't have an FD but I used it for my A4 when I had a rough idle problem. My idle problem was so bad that I stalled my car many times at parking lot. Initially, I was thinking about cleaning the idle control valve in my car but I decided to give it a try and guess what? my idle problem disappeared right away. I guess it cleans up all the fuel injection system including idle control valve.

I always heard that BG44K was THE cleaner that you wanted to use over all other cleaners. I need to pick some up, anybody know where to get some?

CYM - go to http://www.bgfindashop.com/ to locate your nearest dealer. A local mechanic sells the fuel additive for $15/bottle. I didn't go shopping around for price though.
