From what I know here are what one may expect:

1. Install the device by itself and u don't gain HP.

2. Install the device and it gives u a greater degree of "safety" with regards to minimizing detonation.
But you must also take into consideration, as previously stated by a few people, what the higher EGT from the leaner A/F is going to effect exactly. Especially with the claims this guy is making as to why detonation happens in the first place.

LOL, I think he did, according to my sources, the message was, "BE SURE TO DRINK YOUR OVALTINE"

i was going to go to bed but decided to crack open another beer. i have to do a google on where i can find a site listing local and national water shortages. look as if this fire is going to get out of control and may take a lot of water. i would rather overide the sprinkler system than get a ticket for watering the lawn.... LOL

Yes I did.

It worked for him.

But he had that in there for 2 years before the car was sold.

So we don't know if that method would last longer than that.

I like the idea of pluggin up that pin-hole to be extra safe.

Wouldn't u?

Damn and I was hoping it was Startubes

450 for bolts though? Top Secret makes titanium brake caliper bolts (for when you need to save that 80 grams a pair) and they only list at $375. I guess there is development time ( reading through old white papers) but what can the cost actually be - 3-4 bucks apiece?

Not for 100x what the product is actually worth, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for you.

Let's recap for those who just joined.

We've got an accountant (there are alot on the market who used to work for Price Water House and got scapegoated for Enron accounting and too tainted to be working for the CPA (Coalitional Provisional Authority in Baghdad)) with a day job who hawks butt-cough, cough-trail plugs at night.

The buttplugs allegedly allow one to use 87 octane w/o detonating and higher power at lower boost pressure using stock twins and IC but just remember to add 15% to your benchdyno.

So we get Batman who's got anecdotal evidence (which is statistically insignificant) of removing the trailing plugs allow some moron to run 15 psi for 2 years w/o detonating. Hell, I boosted my 2nd engine to 14psi with a PFC tuned (or untuned I should say) by SR. It never blew for 2 years either. Does that mean everyone else can run 14 psi on a PFC w/o tuning?

This is great. Brings out all the real techy vs the voodo-engineers like Batman and Dr. Hyde.

Then Steven says it has nothing to do with Skip. Then Zach wonders about how the development ended on a sour note... and here you are changin the tune and just backing the product. you obviously must not be to close to either side or you would have known... but the word "WE" is used as if you....

Steven. I am good friends of the KDR crew and have known about this for a long time. So, you are the "nice guy" that Skip has been referring to when conversing with him about the mod. The great guy that was helping him go from version 1, which I have, to the nice one-piece plug? he must have really upset you for you to do this. I do not know what has happened to your relationship with Skip but it must have ended on a sour note.

I thought we were talking about SKip's product too in the beginning.

No, I am not part of the development of the product.

I don't believe I have said that.

However, I talked to Skip quit frequently regarding the product and have share some insights regarding patents from my personal experience.

I'm not going to comment on the relations with Skip/Steven since there was a NDA between the 2 and other relative dialogue that have occured.

That part is simply none of my business nor that of anyone else.

It's just between them.

Exactly, i dont know how much "R&D" needed to go into something that sits flush to the rotor housing and plugs the hole a spark plug used to be in.

450$ for 2 bolts? i don't care if they save the world, because at that price i can buy a great water injection kit and have a universally tried and true detonation preventer, that ALSO lowers intake and exhaust temps at the same time.

WOW, its been about a year now since Ive actually had fun browsing the forum......you guys have finally renewed my faith that I can be happy and acutally laugh while being on the forum.

On a side note, I'm sure taht egt gauge would be wraping around since it would have a ton of excess fuel burning in your exhaust lol. The less you burn the fuel the less the chamber pressures are and the less likely to detonate. The only downfall is your also going to make less power, based on previous "testers" of KDR's anti device it was true that thier hp was down.

This is such a joke, why not just unplug your trailing coils and achieve the same results. If your worried about carbon building up on the plugs just pull them out and clean them every so often.

I think refering to this as an "anti detonation device" is VERY extreme, there is no way it should be refered to as such. Detonation can still exist even with the trailing removed

he cant. he can only tell you how close you are as to guessing what the product is. he can tell you you are off the list of people who are "allowed" to buy it, and he can only rub his index fingers across eachother, say *tisk tisk* and say that you dont know Skip....

so basicly to sum it up.
1. this guy Steven has spilled the beans as to what this long awaited (by everyone for different reason) magic device is.
2. since batman *thought* we were talking about Skip's device in the begining, either this IS Skip's device.
or
3. batman is full of $hit and this isnt Skip's "soultion to poor tuning"
I am leaning twords that is IS Skip's device ONLY because of Zach's reply. (Zach, I am in no way trying to drag you into this, your reply was just VERY inlightening to me)

I know more than the average person about this product than the average person on this thread.

But I don't know everything about it.

4. there may be some kinda contratual agreement between Steven and Skip that doesn't involve others, including BATMAN. Basically, BATMAN can't comment on that.

But, the other stuff, u might be on to something Keith.......

is this a joke? its not april first, what the hell?

Normally I don't comment on stupid **** like this but I cant help it this time.

you think not running a trailing spark is gonna save you from detonation? you realize most peoples trailing spark fires at 0 BTDC with 15 advance and 15 split right? how is removing that spark gonna prevent detonation? jesus christ. i want to see someone actually dyno a real car w/ this back to back so i can laugh at the power loss.

$450 dollah.. jesus christ..

cuz carbon buildup the size of a pencil tip is gonna cause detonation.. Ok.

... $450 !?#$%!#%
