another how much is my car worth thread...
Financial situations are changing for me and I may have to sell the seven . I paid 19.5 for it (from a dealer -- bone stock) last year (53k) and now it has 60k on it. it is in PERFECT condition. It's absolutly gorgeous inside and out. NOTHING is wrong with it mechanically, and I have been meticulus about everything (I'm very **** ).
It's a white 95 and I've been told that in 95 they only made two or three manual whites (not sure of the validity of this). Here is a link with some pics and dyno/compression results. My mods are in my sig and all have less than 4k on them. The clutch/Flywheel have 200 miles on them. The pics do the car no justice. Thanks for your opinions.

Damn dude....that suxs that you may have to sell her...I am somewhat in the same boat but different. Due to immigrational status I may have to let my car go. jamaican with a work visa. Actually i could stay here all I want but the marital status may change and for me to be with my woman I will have to be home in Jamaica since she can't be here due to her immigrational status. Anyway, it gets so complicated. If I have to sell it I will but by God it will be the last thing to go! Maybe I will keep it in FL and fly up there and drive it every few months Loosing an FD can't be any fun. Once you own one you will alwasy want one.

since its a 95 and has the mods u have on it. i would not let it go for anything less then 18k. i would ask 20k for it. people may think i am outta my mind but you can get a little over 2k for the mods you have on the car and also white is a rare color. if that car is in excellent you should not have a hard time getting at least 18k.

moehler, basically, if you have to sell the car "quick", you aren't going to get what it's worth. If you can take your time, you'll eventually get what you think it's worth. The question is, do you have the time to wait?

Well i must say that you car is in excellent shape and with 60K and being a 95 you'd be able to get what you want if you sell it on the street! They are right in the post though...you will have to wait a long time to get what you want and someone will pay, but if you need to get rid of it right away..you will loose a lot of money since most people would go for a single turbo RX-7 for that much!
As a matter of fact i went last week to a dealer just to get an appraisel to trade in my RX-7 for an RX-8 and then a nissan dealer to get a 350Z...wasnt going t do it, i just wanted to test drive the cars. Anyways.... The appraisel for 93-95 RX-7s with low miles and perfect condition for trade in value is only 4-7 K(trade in amount). blue Book value is around 10-11K with extremelly low miles and good shape like yours.
unfortunatly my trade in value was only 5K because the paint on my fenders is faiding down but i just laughed so hard at the value(it was my excuse to test drive the hell out of those cars and walk away with an excuse)
So basically, your car, with your miles and the excellent shape is in! It is valued at $6,500K for trade in value. Blue Book(street value) is $11.000 and add $2,000-$4,000K for the value of the vehicle itself that includes popularity and the name RX-7s have which people pay to have a supra or rx-7s(is a value you cant add to hondas unless is an s2000 or NSX)

The blue book value of the car is actually 16.5k, that would give it a street value (since these cars never go for BB value) of around 18.5k. If I add in aproximately 2k for the mods (they ran me about 8k and they are all new), I'm figuring about 20.5K total. I can wait, I don't need to sell her right now, but possibly over the next couple of months (I'm still unsure). So hopefully I can get 18k - 20.5k for it.
"its hard to say most single turbo FD's are selling for $18k" (vosko)
I don't really get why the baseline price of an FD is the price of a highly modded FD!?! I would think that very modded (single conversion) sevens are less appealing to the overall population of sports car buyers (aka not 18 year olds that want to be 2F2F) than a midley modded or stock cars. What I wrote above seems very logical to me. It's a fair price for the car. So, how does my car add up to the same price that a nice single turbo FD goes for? The only explaination seems to be that the cost of these cars is governed soley by their condition as opposed to what mods are in it. In that case, a perfect stock car should sell the same (approximately) as a perfect highly modded car. This is essentially what I see browsing FD ads. Would you guys agree that this is accurate?
all in all I think that these cars are truely difficult to put a value on .

Thats pretty much true in most cars moehler. In fact a lot of cars mods simply lower the value, unless you find somebody who wants htose mods your almost never going to make money off of them.

personally i'd buy a nice modded car over a completely stock car. i am VERY picky though..... my car dash wasn't peeling, no broken passenger door handle, no squeeks, no rattles, everything was extremely solid. honestly most FD's i have seen are just about to fall apart which is why people are selling them. its hard to finda really nice one so that is why the nice ones go for alot of money it just takes forever and you get tons of lowball offers.
one more problem is a bank will only finance you for approx $15k if you are lucky on a FD. that means you need come up with the balance + $1000 for registering and paying sales tax + money for insurance + pray nothing breaks when you drive it home.... lol
its hard to buy an FD nowadays if you don't have the $$$ already
