Question air pump off, now i have a #51 code

i took my air pump off last weekend and through the week i went in to limp mode, its a #51 code (the air pump relay), has it gone or do i need to do something like a resistor in the place of the air pump, cheers phil.

bro I think you win for the most threads started in Gen D within a 5 day period

You need to use a resistor if you remove the air pump and run the stock ECU. Looks like its POWER FC time

Are you getting 51 or 54?

51 - Fuel pump relay
54 - Air pump relay

51, my car is rhd so i have to use an LED in the diagnostic box it comes out a bit different to the light on the dash, on the list for my LED flashing its the air pump relay. i have removed the air pump this is why its coming up as that.

If that is the problem, a simple test would be to reconnect the airpump connection (not reinstall it) and see if the code is still there. However, I think you have a different problem.

What list are you using?

The airpump relay has nothing to do with the airpump directly. There is a relay in the relay box for the airpump. Most likely that relay has either been removed or damaged.
