22, Lieutenant in the army (yay!), bought the car 4 years ago from an F-16 pilot (incidently) for 17,500 w/some light mods. Now knowing much more than I did (and being several thousand dollars poorer), I have finished undoing his damage and adding some of mine. '93 R1.

Say, GoodFellas, wanna open a Hawaii branch of Gotham Racing? And all you engineers, I got a minor in mech, if anyone wants to throw out a job offer. j/k

I'll let the cat out of the bag.

1/4 century old.

Chalk me up as an electrical engineer, I guess. That's what my degree's in, and that's what I'm continuing in grad school now. I was a full time IT support-er, until a month ago. Now I'm "on call" IT support, which means I barely make ends meet now. Thanks for the budget cuts, Arnie! Oh well, it's just the kick in the *** I need to finally put my EE degree to work. I hope I make as much $$$ as I did .

I bought my '95 R2 a year ago w/40kMi. It "costed" ~21k, not including registration, insurance, etc., of course.

Here goes:

36, build large saltwater aquaria and breed blue snakes (GTPs)--R1, 37k, $17k w/ $7k in mod.s.

The FD sort-of makes me feel like when I was 17 in the SA.

29...the big 30 is just around the corner.

Lead IT guy at a fiberoptics company. I also do welding/fabrication on the side.

Bought my FD 2 months ago for 14k. It's a red 93 R1 w/95k miles. I've wanted this car since I was in high school, but I always assumed that getting a used one would cost me at least 22k.

25. Internal Auditor at Computer Sciences Corporation. I've owned a Red 95 for 2 months. I would have bought one years ago but I was under the impression that I couldn't fit in one due to my heighth (6' 4").

Engine was blown. Already swapped engine. Am going to paint it soon.....maybe a titanium grey (coz i think it'll look good with my gold Mazdaspeed MS-01).

32, Original Owner of a 93 VR R1 w/6 miles.

Car was 1 of a few Acid rain cars, with 10K off MSRP.
got the car for 23K with a 6K Trade in for a 87
Grand National. SO got the FD for a total of 17K.
Some jealous MF, keyed my car 2 weeks after I got it.
So it was Painted Super WHITE, and some 19" rims.
So acid rain paint wasn't a factor becasue INSURAnce
picked up the tab.
Got 130K miles on a Original Motor and turbos with
all teh BOLT ons until the MOTOR Finally BLEW.

Currently car is getting a New Mazda reman w/Streetport. 3mm apex and oil shaft upgrade, and
a t78 Single turbo conversion w/everything that goes
with it. Finally giving her a Mazdaspeed Body kit
and Paint job. and seriously contemplating selling her.
make me a offer I can't refuse. and WHO Knows..

Was network tech @ UUNET/Wcom until the bubble
busted in what?? 2001??

Currently Owner/Operator of BP station with Cstore,
Beer/wine/lottery. Currently in the works to build/open
Fastfood Franchine with partner.

It's a bit scary to see how many people are on their second FD after a wreck. I know these cars are continuing to get rarer and rarer, but no one seems to have an accurate count of how many are left in the US.

20, currently doing temp clerical work while I try to break into IT (working on certifications and degree). I'm looking at buying an FD in about a year or so, depending on how the job thing goes, and using it as a project car while I keep my '97 Eagle Talon as my daily.
