Question 6k smoke

At steady 6k rpm (no boost) I'm dumping smoke (white? grey?) Under boost I see none. At < 6000, never any smoke. Occasionally a little oil smoke at startup, as is expected.

Compression is good. Car has lots of power. No oil visible at throttle body, but small amount in intake piping. Turbos have small external oil leak, but that's not new. Not losing any coolant.

Engine mods are only intake, dp, cb. Ideas? Ok to take out for a track weekend?

It's possible that your oil seals or oil control o-rings are wearing out.
Take the car out for a drive. Get it all warmed up. in second gear, take it up to redline, then let off the gas while leaving it in gear. If you see a bunch of smoke coming out then you've got oil control o-ring problems. It sounds like it could be an oil seal problem, but it could be turbos as well. Does the car ever smoke at idle? If the car doesn't smoke when you let off at redline, try taking off the dp and looking in there for oil. The not leaking under boost actually sounds like it could be bad oil seals in the turbo, but it's hard to tell without seeing the car. If it was me, I'd still track it, but then, I am a mechanic.

I was thinking of the oil cotrol rings as well.. How is your oil consumption(usage)? Does it need to be filled more often than usual?
FWIW: Has anyone ridden behind you and smelled the smoke? If so what did it smell like? It could also be your cat clogged up but usually I see those smoke under heavy throttle loads.

well, yeah... it does seem to have a thirst for oil. Bummer.

Another detail - much less smoke after car has been driven for a while. I kid myself the car has healed itself.

I don't think its the cat, as boost is eager and ample.

What smell to expect from a clogged cat?

From what I've smelled, clogged cats smell like rotten eggs/ sulfur.

I did this for a while to when my seals went!! But then just bit the bullet and yanked the engine. Found a chipped rear apex seal as well.

And the rotten egg smell is correct for clogged cats. I don't thinkit's your cat either now that you say boost is good and not restricted....Sorry!!
