Timing front cover oil leak

Hey Guys
Im pretty bummed out , I just confirmed the oil leak in my fd is coming from the top of my front engine timing cover. I have done some research and feel a little intimidated doing it myself, mostly from the risk of the bearing and the possibility of falling inside , creating bigger problems. Does anyone have any advice or can point me towards some instructions on how to do it? Engine is in the car and have purchased the metal gasket .thanks in advance

its a huge job that isn't fun, but its also not complicated. just big and messy.
you can, and should measure for dropped bearings. its something to be aware of, and check for, but they kind of stay where you put them, so chance of getting them in the right place, and staying there are high

I dealt with my front cover leak for a couple of years and wrestled with in car vs engine removal. Finally decided to pull the engine, it is a big job if your car is stock like mine and has everything attached still. But glad I pulled it, gave me access to freshen up a lot of stuff easily, clutch kit, coolant hoses, check valves, water pump, front and rear main seals, ect. I used the metal gasket and RTV on the oil pan and am proud to say my car is now 100% leak free, no oil, coolant, or gas leaks.

You guys might want to run a UV dye in the oil to double check the source of the leak. I thought for sure I had located a leak visually. Then ran the UV dye and discovered I was wrong and saved myself a lot of headache.
