Could have a lot of fun with one of those cameras!
Magnetic door signs in the "Hi-no-maru" pattern would really make you car stand out even more at meets!
I've really thought about where to put that on my car because that always goes good with white. I've thought about doing the whole back window but I'm not that flashy, I kind of like Zero stickers and clean body but I like the magnet idea for certain scenarios, I may have to do something like that
You would not want to leave on for long. The magnetic metal can transfer to the paint. Or if the surface is not clean, they can scratch the paint. Also freeway speeds might defeat the magnetic force.......

I'll be paint correcting and adding ceramic eventually which should help protect the paint. I also probably wouldn't drive with them, would be something just for kicks at car meets and shows. I've never had issues with the magnet numbers we run for autox and rallyx but they just stay on for the event and are taken off
Took the FD on its first "long" drive today, about 5 hours round trip, car did great. Spent about an hour in gridlock traffic on the highway, glad my A/C works great. Tank of Fuel was about 17mpg which I think was pretty good for traffic, city driving, lots of stopped idle time trying to get out of the show and highway. I think she's ready for the dragon if I can find the time. Timeless Expo put on Kanjo Night and the turnout was more than expected so they had to shut down the show unfortunately but it was probably the best show I've seen in a while. I was dumb and didn't get a single picture of my own car at the show but we were pushed out by fire marshals so I didn't really think about it. Somebody caught me on the highway headed home and tagged me on Instagram and the venue put my car in their flyer so that made up for it.
So many RHD! Is that a real Spirit R. If yes, then how?
yes it was. Don't think it was legal because I'm pretty sure they don't meet the show and display rule. Definitely the cleanest car there though. I hope these guys get the venue sorted properly and bring the show back because from what I heard, there were over a thousand people that didn't even get to enter before firemarshals shut it down. Lots of cars turned away too. We are still waiting for more details on that aspect.
My car is just over 25 years old, but I have driven it to the US often before it turned 25. The Spirit R could perhaps be registered in Canada and visiting Florida on vacation.
I believe returning service members can bring in underage cars, (when returning from Japan) but I have not heard much about that recently.
Our equivalent big show is called Driven. They organize events across Canada. The response to those meets seems very similar to your event. It is a challenge to sort out the venues.
Our AutoX season has been suspended because the lot we were to use at a major auction yard has filled up with unsold cars.

they can not. the military is very strict about that. if its not in the 25 year requirement to the month then it doesn't sail.... period. when going from japan to another country that isn't America you can take it with you regardless of year since most other countries that a service member would be going to doesn't have the 25 year restriction. the car is likely here under some form of elegant smuggling lol. the title probably says its a corrolla and the import paperwork (if it exists) probably says computer desk or lawn equipment
Also I think there may be a 15 year treaty for cars from Canada into the US.
So there may have been a scheme to register first in Canada.
I'd have to go back and find my source material.
It was an article in SuperStreet, iirc.
There are a lot of "gray market" cars in Florida. When I was searching to buy mine, I couldn't tell you how many I found. Its been going on for a long time down here because Florida and other states near here would let you register whatever and get a state issued title. It just wouldn't be federally legal. I believe the military thing you are talking about is service members are allowed to bring their cars here for a limited time, but they cannot keep them unless they are imported properly and meeting the proper importing requirements such as 25+ years etc. I'm not against gray market cars, I hate the government laws surrounding this topic because it really has nothing to do with "safety" as they claim, its only there to force us to purchase newer cars from this country. The vehicle does not magically get any "safer" when it turns 25 years old. I just won't buy a gray market car unless for a dedicated track car because they have been starting to crack down on them and I don't want to take that chance on a car that I have some decent money into.

negative... the government will not move a vehicle temporarily. it can only be shipped to the next duty station if that's where it will be staying AND it meets the import requirements of that country AND the member qualifies to even have a vehicle shipped. 99% do but some don't for whatever reason. the other way they will ship it is upon separation and it will go to the home of record or where ever you say your home is lol
Took both cars out to Provisions After Hours one year anniversary event. Saw a pretty cool Rezvani Tank. Didn't know what it was until I looked it up, I kind of like them and what they offer. Just $$$
Fresh snow on the local peaks and warm temps at sea level, shaping up to be a stellar long weekend. Surprising pent up demand for the first Chatime meet of the year in Richmond tonight.
Entire lot full early with spill over onto the streets. Some did not get the message to leave mom's car at home. J freshly completed kit up in Vancouver for some you tube shooting. Pretty clean looking S8. But something going on under the hood. Stunning S2000. More than a few of these out tonight. Supra looking formidable. Murderers' row
First VCMC AutoX of the season was a hit. Terrific weather and fresh breezes of fthe river. RX8 pulled a 49 second lap, well ahead of event average of about 54 seconds. Silver FD got its best result as a poser in the paddock, well off the pace at 57 seconds (one cone)..
The huge open invitation Weissach Porsche meets have started up for the year, second Saturday of each month at Spanish Banks. Car scene is alive and well. May is nice as forest fire smoke is still at a minimum.
Pre-meet at YVR MacDonald's before cruise out Marine Drive into Vancouver. 8:00 am sharp grabbed the last four spots. Any car you want, as long as its a Porsche.
By the way, for future reference, this happened last night (and we all survived!).
Rain or shine some of us will try to get together. A friend of mine and fellow FD owner (also owns the NSX) owns this great Shave Ice shop we are always eating at so we tried to have a small car meet last Sunday evening, but the rain scared most people off. Still had a good turnout given the main part of the parking lot was underwater. I think it will be a great event in the future when the weather holds up, but it is Florida. The Silver FD is also RHD and recently had a mishap but is sourcing the parts to repair. The RX7parts.com car has come a long way and looks and sounds amazing. This was an (unplanned) test of the car because it made it through the storms and the flooded parking lot.
