Opinions.

First off hello everyone.

im currently running all stock minus the catback aftermarket radiator and power rc.

im going to be putting on the HKS RS air intake in conjunction with removing my AC PUMP. I have a newer version of the PFC with a base map. Can it handle the parts I’ll be putting on soon?

also I have a cat less midpipe and was wondering how much I need to tweak my base map to keep my car healthy.

Get it tuned. I made a 7000$ mistake thinking the power FC stock map would cover downpipe, high flow cat, and exhaust.

Stock intake and even ported my turbine housing wastegate port.

The newer PFC base map is safe with "3 mod rule" as long as you can keep your boost at 10 psi.
I would drop in a Supra TT fuel pump and a fast reacting IAT sensor. Keep your aircharge below 60 C and you will be safe.

Been using this sensor for years now with good success. Get the pigtail adapter for plug and play. Its essentially a Triumph IAT sensor.

Read this first https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...needed-841706/

since you asked for opinions, i would leave the main cat, car won't smell like a 50's Cadillac with the choke stuck on and no worries about popping the engine. we used to call the midpipe the "apex seal removal tool" for a reason...

you will also regret removing the Air Conditioning...

thanks for that. Definitely not gonna remove the aircon. Only the air pump which pumps air into the cat. I was gonna use a bonez or knight sports hi-flo cat, Whenever I remove the air pump.

I can give you my experience. I have a DP, CB, M2 intake, larger stock IC, better fuel pump, PFC tuned to 295 hp at the wheels on a Mustang dyno. Anything past this you will have to remove the main cat and then you'll need bigger injectors and maybe other parts I can't think of right now. I love the power my fd makes and this fd is still solid. I've had the car set this way for 12 years.

Agree with this. Especially removing the midpipe and reinstalling a cat asap. In addition to eliminating boost creep issues and stink, it also sounds better IMO.
Also not a fan of the open intakes that source hot under hood air.

I'm only gonna remove the air pump and keep the cat for now until I get a tune. I never drive insanely fast so I think ill be fine.

Yep, you’ll be fine as long as you don’t install that “cat less midpipe”. No amount of “tweaking” protects you from boost creep.
